Me too. The ramp leads to shuttle bay after all. Missed opportunity.

Edit: I really want a Steve & Kaidan sig but they're too big to fit together.

I gotta get out of this funk... I had the chapter outlined before the EC and it's started but... /sigh...   I still gotta take the characters into some dark places before their rescue.

I agree, it would have been a nice touch, even if it was they walk into the cabin and it fades to black.

Reason: The dev team on EC was slammed. People came off crunch from
ME3 to go back into crunch for EC. The goodbye scenes with the squad
mates followed a set structure so there was some work that could be
shared between them. It would have been a whole new cinematic structure
to have Shep say goodbye to the wounded squad mates, then have Cortez
or Traynor show up and have a second goodbye. It would have hurt the
pacing of the scene too. Note that you only get to say goodbye to your
love interest if they are in your squad. We'd always like to add more,
though in this case the 2.0 G DLC size limit was beginning to make it
impossible for us to do so.

This/these are the reasons why Steve didn't come to say "I love you." to Shep when the Normandy picked the squadmates.
The story reason is now canon!

Story reason at least makes some sense.. doesn't mean I wouldn't have love a last moment with Steve.  

As I said in the Kaidan thread when someone brought it up.  Yes, the rescue scene opens a whole new, "Why didn't Harby shoot the Normandy?" logic plot hole issue.   But emotions trump logic, I LOVE THE SCENE.  I know only the squadmember LI's got it so Steve wasn't singled out or anything... doesn't mean I wouldn't have loved it anyway. 

Plus my ending is high-ems Destroy, I know there is a reunion with Shepard & Steve after the Normandy gets back to Earth.

I think after what happened with Robert, he isn't ever going to give up until he's sure. Even if they have to take apart the Citadel piece by piece to find him, he's not leaving Shepard there.

 You know what just played in my mind after reading what Dusty told Beep for "Story Reason"?

Shep making sure that his squaddies (for me it was James and Kaidan) get on board the Normandy. Then he catches a glimpse of the man he realizes he fallen hard for in the rear of the shuttle bay making sure the deck is secure and everyone is doing what they need to do. Just a few brief seconds, seeing Steve there, is all it takes to strenghthen his resolve, to get up that beam.  All tjhe while fighting the urge to call out to him, so he won't worry, so his mind stays on the job.  But that was all he needed...was to just see him one more time.

That's love right there.......

I don't have a problem with the scene myself, it's basically what others said, that's why it's in quotes. 

I LOVE THE SCENE, especially on my Kadain LI Shepard(s)... a bit more sad on my Steve LI Shepard, but I like Angel's idea above and I think I'll go with it!

My thoughts exactly, Steve wouldn't abandon Shepard. He wouldn't rest until he knew he was safe.

You sound like Tali. lol And, I am seriously considering it. I'm planning on making a save just before Miranda's Appartment, Steve's drinking at Purgatory, and Kaidan's dinner so I can always just reload a save and play the romance for the hell of it.

I sort of want to get the PC Version just so I can edit the saves and take proper screen caps.

Tali, huh? I've never done her romance so I can't sound like her, right?

I thought it's perfectly possible to edit save files of the xbox version of the game. You just need to have USB flash drive and move the saves there and edit them with your computer. I'm not an expert so take my advice as a grain of salt.

When you meet her again in ME3, "And, by the way, Still totally worth it."
