I may not have agreed with your posts much before, but this post made you an awesome person in my eyes.Taboo-XX wrote...
Breaking news. I had no inclination of Steve hitting on my Shepard and I'm straight.
He was never anything less than professional. He was a shuttle pilot who just happened to be gay. He was simply mourning his partner like anyone else would, gay or straight.
It's the same way with Miranda. People can't get past the way she looks. It has nothing to do with the value of the character.

I find this character "Steve" to be a very boring, uninteresting and badly written character.
I want to change that outlook.
I see there is 80 pages so far, from those 80 pages what might make me like Steve?

No one is making you do anything, you don't like the character then please go somewhere else, this is as civil as I could put it

I'm not exactly sure how a thread about a character can change you opinion. Instead, I would rather just listen to what he says. People claim that the only thing about him is his sexuality as if they forgot that he's also a big geek for ships and vehicles, likes to drink with his straight friend Vega (when Garrus says 'drinks on the Citadel' people seeem to love it), and the point of his personal story is not being gay. You could turn Robert into Roberta and it would still be about the same thing - moving on from loss in order to live good life till it's still possible (since the galaxy may soon not even exist anymore). This was part of the overall ME3 war theme regardless of sexual orientations, for example that EDI comment how there's more public displays of affection on the Citadel now since War made people realize more how uncertain life is and that they should try live a good life everyday. This is not just about Steve but Shepard as well since Shepard lost Ash/Kaidan and then he saw how that kid got killed in the opening of ME3. And after this little story is done, you get a pure fun scene at the club with drinks and ONLY then you can start a romance, Steve doesn't hit on Shep unless Shep initiates it.Hannah Montana wrote...

I've never posted here (Only skimmed through), so hello guys.
Anyway, I pretty sure there was no inclination because Shepard has to be the one that initiates the relationship. Through 3-4 separate dialogue stages. I'll never understand how anyone can claim Steve ninjamanced them.

Do you mean, you want to like his character or overall?
I'm compiling you a list for starters. (The list is, of course, influenced by my own opinions)
1. He has a very gentle personality.
- I really how he cares about Shep, even if he isn't romanced.
- I can't even imagine him being angry and that's something.
2. He is physically attractive.
- Those blue eyes... I can stare them for hours without getting bored.
3. He takes his job seriously.
- He is not a slacker.
- He works hard and ensures everybody's safety.
4. He has a touching past.
- He has lost a loved one about 6-9 months ago. He got over it, but as the invasion started, the only think he grabbed in a hurry was that recording. It all came back to him. The grief, the sorrow, everything.
I could throw that in just from the top of my head. The Leviathan DLC will surely bring more into every aspect of his character.
Remember that no one is forcing you to like him. Talking with him is purely optional.
Yeah, Steve himself had me at the hello.Mimitochan wrote...
I like Steve. I didn't need anybody to convince me for that purpose. If i don't like a character, chances are nobody will convince me otherwise, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Finally that stupid thread is done. It's just ridiculous to me. It seems that no matter what Bioware does, attractive male human characters in this franchise are hated by a part of ME players (usually straight guys). First Kaidan, then Jacob, Vega, Steve. They're called whiny, boring, awful, creepy, meathead or that they want to molest Shep and anything imaginable. I mean seriously, this is so childish

Steve: That landing in the Cerberus docking bay was a rough one. But I’ve triple-checked the shuttle, and she’s ready to fly. So am I.
* [Romance] Steve: And, Shepard, promise me you’ll be careful on Earth. Don’t go carrying all this on your shoulders. Please don’t go playing the hero. Just come back to me, okay?
> Shepard: Hey, I’ll come back. It’ll take more than a few hundred Reapers to stop me.
Steve: That’s why I love you. Your confidence borders on stupidity.
> Shepard: I’ll try my best, but with so much at stake… we have to do whatever it takes.
Steve: That’s why I love you. You’re annoyingly honest.
* [Friendship] Steve: And, Shepard, I want you to know how much our time together has meant.
Shepard: That sounds like a “goodbye,” Steve. We’re winning this war. We’ll make it through this.
Steve: Of course. Then I’ll see you on the other side. It’s been the greatest honor of my life to have you as my commander… and as my friend.
Shepard: It’s been an honor for me as well, Steve.
Steve: Good luck, Shepard.
* Steve: And, Commander, I just wanted to say it’s been the greatest honor of my life to serve with you.
Shepard: That sounds pretty final, Lieutenant. We’ll look back on this day in victory.
Steve: Yes, Commander.
Shepard: I know you’ll do humanity proud today, Lieutenant.
Steve: I’ll do my best, Commander.
Shepard: Now let’s go kick the Reapers the hell out of our galaxy.
Steve: Yes, sir.

._. Oh hello fellow fans of Steve Cortez. Just thought I'd delurk and ask you fine people if you think there will be romance specific dialogue in the new Leviathan DLC? I for one am VERY happy that it will include Cortez as he is my favorite ME3 character and getting any more content with him would be fantastic and on top of that romance specific dialogue. Fingers crossed :3.
