This may be the geekiest thing I have ever posted on BSN but... anybody else getting that 300 vibe from this thread?
Priestly: No, it's too hard. You need to slow down! Get a feel for it.
BSN: Priestly what is your profession?
Priestly: Game designer, I thought that was obvious since I work for Bio-
BSN: Game designer. GAMERS! WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION!?!?!
BSN: AOOO! AOOO! AOOO!
No? Just me? I'm about to have a kid so go easy on me.
Pure win.. just.. pure win.

I wouldn't recommend it.
Combat has changed since ME2. The omni-blade, the cover mechanics, better enemy AI, etc. I'd recommend you try it at a lower setting initially to "get" the changes, then do an Insanity playthrough if you want to give it a shot.

I'll do what I did in ME2.
First Veteran, then Hardcore and then Insanity.
Definitely this. Hardcore in ME2 was a nice challenge but Insanity was just...insane at times.

Back when CoD MW1 was released, I finished it on the highest difficulty setting. Took me around two hours to clean out the TV broadcast station, but hell if I would've done it any other way. That being said, it is a matter of course for me to play ME3 on Insanity exclusively. Where would be the effort in waltzing through the environment and hosing down anything that moves without using any sort of tactics at all? I honestly think I wouldn't get as big a sense of accomplishment if I were to start playing the game on a lower setting.

Your saving the galaxy. It should not be a walk in the park.

I guess it'll help if I can start insanity with new game plus powers, assuming there will be some in ME3.

But the closer it gets, it's just too tempting to jump into insanity straight away. The first run is often the most memorable, and I want it to be tough to be able to connect with Shepard.

I'll use the demo to get a feel for Mass Effect 3
Even after countless ME2 playthroughs, I felt most immersed on Insanity.
After all,
Saving the Galaxy should be hard work.

Duh, I wrote this post without having read any other posts beside the OP beforehand. Nice to know people are thinking like me.

Are you serious ? I have just watched the demo you played at IGDA and the AI is so slowwwwww I could have done the mission in my sleep, so far I am not impressed.
I certainly hope that demo was on casual
