For those who want to play a pure renegade femshep and still romance Sam, here's a couple of helpful hints. When Sam mentions Grissom Academy, choose the top right dialogue. This will have femshep say good catch. The other is when she brings up the ex-Cerberus scientists. Choose the top right dialogue leading her to tell femshep about her being on Horizon when the collectors attack. This will only happen if the player has a save imported from ME2. If playing a default ME3 playthrough. still choose the top right dialogue. I don't recall exactly what Sam says. Picking the top right dialogue both time will give the player the choice to have a shower with Sam or play chess. If not, the chess scene will automatically happen.

A question for those of you who romanced Samantha and played The Citadel DLC.

This is the first time I romance Samantha Traynor and I am curious to know how the romance works in the DLC.

I had the shower scene and now I'm playing the DLC and I'm going to enter the casino. I was wondering, is the romance locked in immediately after the shower scene? Will I be able to kiss Samantha when I enter the Normandy before the clone fight?

I read in another thread that the hot tube scene will play only after Horizon. Does this mean that, if I invite Samantha over before Horizon, I will get the "standard" scene and not the romance one?

Yes. Though its been a long time since I've done that. And it was only the one time.

It means there will be no invite for her to come to the apartment. If you like, make a save after the gameplay portion. Continue the dlc like usual and if it turns out Sam and Shpeard have the hot tub scene before Horizon, you have your answer. If not, complete Horizon, then go back to the apartment to do all the meetups and later have the hot tub scene.

Now that you brought it up, I may have to play the dlc before Horizon to make sure I'm correct.

As I said in my previous post, I had to play the dlc to double check, and its correct.  I just finished Sanctuary and the message "rain check"  was on the terminal. So when I go back to the apartment, I will be able to invite her over for the hot tub scene.

I played the dlc after the geth dreadnought and immediately after there was the email with Traynor's invite for lunch. Afterwards, I did one mission (Cyone: Reactors) and went back to the Normandy and got the message for the apartment meeting and got the hot tub scene.

 Before that I only had her invite ad lunch, invited James and met Zaeed in the Silversun Strip.

The next time I play the dlc, I will do what you did to see if that happens for me. As I've posted, I play the dlc after completing Sanctuary. The reason for that is to have Miranda's meetup.
