I don't think Ashley's a homophobe, but it's possible.  People who are prejudice against one thing tend to be prejudice against other things.

I play multi-player a little.  I haven't played in a while since I've been playing ME2, but I finished that last night (clocked in at 56 hours and 46 minutes).  I'll be playing ME3 again starting Thursday evening.  I play on PS3, though.

Since you play on PS3, I can see why you've never talked to Kaidan. 

It's a shame, really.  I prefer him over Ashley, hands down.  He kinda reminds me of that slightly awkward guy who's really nice and always ends up in the friendzone of really hot girls. 

With not being able to play ME1, you really miss out on a lot of the backstory and interaction between Shep and Kaidan and/or Ashley.   On my first play through of ME1, I remember thinking that Ash seemed so racist (species-ist?).  I never really let go of that first impression, to be honest.  I've killed her on every play through but one.

as far as ashley/kaidan goes they don't trust you on horizon, don't visit you while you are under house arrest and then on mars still convinced that you are with cerberus so I throw both in the garbage and take the lovable sam

That's why I've never met him.  I always choose to save Ashley since she's a woman.  That's really the only reason.

I've always been upset about not being able to play ME1, but there's really nothing I can do about it.  I've considered buying a 360 to play it, but that's a significant investment for just one game.  I also wouldn't be able to transfer that character or do anything with her.  I'm also not playing it on a PC because my PC is garbage and I don't enjoy that input method.  I'll just have to settle with the comic.

It sounds like Sam would like him, though.  I never got the impression that he was a bad guy.

Yeah, my most recent play through with Femshep... I dumped Kaidan but kept him on the ship as I make kissy faces at Sam.  I might play it once more (would make five times) and have a Sheploo/Kaidan romance.

Sam is still my favorite, though.

You should do one play through and keep Kaidan, just to compare.  *nods sagely*

Valorefane Ive played through numerous times once as maleshep fhe rest as femshep three times with kaidan I killed him after citadel, not let him on the normandy and the other all the through while me and sam got it on. kaidon talks like he has cotton balls in his mouth hes a kid trapped in a mans body. Ashley i like better not much though but regardless sam in the limited time she has in the game has the most to offer and that accent is to die for

To be clear, I've never romanced Kaidan in ME3.  I was just saying I prefer him to Ashley because she's just too damned annoying.  Merely a personal preference on my part.

However, I prefer Sam over both of them by leaps and bounds.    I think she's my fave romance of all.

Okay, I was just reminded of why I hate that scene so much. It's not just the fact that it occurs too early, IMHO, the animations are horrendous and unnatural, awkward even. The whole leg lift, hold pose while the camera pulls back and the door closes bit creeps me out.

(I'm sorry, I know I am probably sounding like a broken record on this issue by now, but it's truely gratuitous and out of place when compared to other love scenes in the series.)

I've never thought of Ashley as homophobic, I kind assumed no one cared in the future. There was that alliance soldier who's family disowned her for marrying an asari, but they sounded more xenophobic than homophobic. My newest Shep is best friends with Ashley and in a relationship with Traynor so they'll have to have to get along whether they like each other or not. I don't see why they wouldn't get along though, Traynor seems pretty easy going I can't really imagine her clashing with anyone.

If we're going with the freaky Sam that a lot of people on the thread seem to think she is, then I'd say You by Romeo Santos.  It's a very dirty song lol

If it's more my version of Sam, then I'd say Corazón Sin Cara by Prince Royce even though Sam is beautiful already

I went for the more serious tone like she had after the dream.  I should've included more of her charm, though.  I wanted to add a little quip that was similar to "buck up, princess, you're in the military now."  I should work on my skills

And that's one of the many reasons why I adore Sam's character.  Playful sense of humor.  


I'm not much for gossip, but even I'd love to hear how that conversation with her friends turn out.
