maybe Sam does not believe in marriage? or secretly wants Shepard to propose?

I see Sam as more of a "leave the door open to see if she comes in" kinda gal. Shepard is definitely the top of the two.

After she mentions a white picket fence, two kids and a dog, I can't see Sam NOT being all for marriage, white wedding and all.  ;)

I don't know that she's necessarily secretive about it, but I just don't see her to be the one to ask Shepard.  Maybe some other girl, but not Shepard.  I think their relationship works with Sam being slightly less take charge than outside of the relationship, if that makes sense.

since femshep takes charge in the military she probably woudn't mind sam takng the reins in their relationship, since sam mentions house,2 kids and dog

*Traynor is sitting holding a small box carrying an Engagement ring for Shepard*

Liara: hey Sam. What is that?
Traynor: *whispering* it is an engagement ring. humans use them to show they want to get married.
Liara: really? who is the lucky woman.
Traynor: ...
Liara: It's Shepard, isn't it?
Traynor: yes, it is. i am just too afraid to "pop the question" as it is said.
Liara: Just take her somewhere nice and ask her.
Traynor: *getting up to leave* i may do just that. thanks, Liara.
Liara: *under her breath* Good luck, you'll need.

now that i set it up that way, the more it makes sense.

I don't really see Traynor or Shepard proposing in a down on one knee sort of way. I think it might just come up in conversation at some point and they'd both decide they'd like to get married. I don't really see them having a big ceremony either.

Did anyone use the renegade option when Traynor made her "joke" about kids and a dog? I have to say I was very tempted. I hate kids and I'm not fussed on dogs either, but Shepard isn't me (though the ending would probably put her off wanting kids).

I don't think Shepard is the type to settle down anyway. Settling down in a "house, kids, dog" kinda way, I mean. It may seem tempting now, with the chaos of war and all, but she would go mad in no time. Just like Mordin and his seashells.

As for Traynor... I don't know, I think she's someone who could be perfectly happy living a relatively uneventful life but enjoys adventure too. She only needs to get encouraged a little bit. Just how she could've gone back to the labs at the beginning of ME3, but stayed on the Normandy because Shepard (and EDI) asked her to. She needed some time to adjust, but in the end it was the best thing that could've happened to her, I think.

maybe Shepard can be the "guy" in the relationship (bring home the bacon and all that) while Sam, well, she can retire and be the stay-at-home mom.

^^Am not sure I agree with that. Sam has a promising career while femshep is in her final stages of her career. Femshep may want to sit back and let sam "bring home the bacon" while femshep starts a new career as a mother.

I think we all see Femshep as being a bit different because she's partially each of us, in some way.

For me, Femshep isn't gonna drop down on one knee to propose, but she WILL do the proposing... once all these Reapers have had their asses kicked to the back end of beyond.

Also, Alix Wilton Regan did not get the part of Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider game.    :crying:

And one other thing... I can't see either Sam or Shepard retiring any time soon. Shepard will be able to choose her choice of command (if the Alliance doesn't have their head up their arse) and will make sure to keep Sam by her side where ever she goes.

This all goes off the hope that the extended cut shows us that Shep lived and blew the Reapers to hell.

^If I was femshep I would tell the alliance to f**k off once the reapers are gone. Reason being is they never made any effort looking for the Normandy after collectors destroyed it and for the bodies . Funny how femshep was able to gather the dogtags Also the alliance turned their back on femshep while she and cerberus went after the collectors. So yeah,as I said femshep shpuld leave the alliance flipping them the bird. Sam can have a nice career while her femshep relaxes at home with the kids. Of coure this is my opinion.

No offense intended, man.  I was just trying to make a joke about how the military is in the habit of screwing its most precious resource.  I was in the Navy in the 90's and then worked for the Army as a civ in the early 2000's and volunteered to go to Iraq in 2004.  I've had first hand experiences as to how the military likes to screw over folks, which is why I made the joke in the first place.

Like I said, wasn't meant to offend.  I'm sorry that it did.

no offense mike, but i can never see Shepard leaving the alliance (unless the follow the don't ask, don't tell, which a doubt). Shepard is a soldier, Samantha is technically a civilian under her command. i could definitely see Shepard working while Samantha stayed home with the kids.

It's always great to meet with fellow vets.  I've found that it doesn't matter how you feel about anything else, be it religion or politics or whatever, veterans will always have something in common and have a genuine respect for each other.  It's one of the best things about being in the military or being a veteran; that feeling of camaraderie never goes away.  Thank you for your service, Mike.

I totally agree with you about the Alliance giving Shepard the short end of the stick.  Just seems to be par for the course in a lot of cases where the military is concerned.  They (the military as a whole) have got to follow the regs (some of which are completely moronic) because the regulations are considered lawful orders.  I've never known a military or read about one that wasn't like that.  Other than Mance Rayder's, and if you've read Game of Thrones, you know how that turned out.

The Alliance definitely owes Shepard some down time, a few promotions, choice of next command, etc.  That being said, I can't really see Shep being happy off the Normandy... but that's just my Shepard.  :P

This is a rough (very rough) draft of a WIP.  Please be gentle.  (Always up for constructive criticism, btw.)

“That’s an order, Commander.”

There was no mistaking the tone of Admiral Hackett’s voice.  Shepard swallowed the hundreds of objections she wanted to make and instead gave a crisp salute to Hackett’s image, holding steady until he returned it and uttered, “dismissed.”

The pixellated image dissolved before her eyes as she relaxed somewhat and took a breath.  Even after all these years, she still got a twinge in her stomach whenever she spoke to Admiral Hackett.  It’s not that he had ever been anything other than strictly ‘by the book’ with her - the botched rescue of his friend, Dr. Amanda Kenson, notwithstanding.  She guessed it must have been the lifetime of being in and around the fleet that still left her with the sense she was always in trouble when speaking to an admiral.

Other than Anderson, but his was a special circumstance.

She stood for a moment longer at the terminal, watching the lights flash slowly on and off.  There was so much that needed to be done, but Hackett’s orders were quite specific:  Do not return to active duty until cleared by Dr. Chakwas.  No amount of cajoling, pleading, or outright demands had made Dr. Chakwas back down.  And she’d been adamant that Shepard take no less than two weeks of leave before she agreed to clear the commander to return to duty.  Shepard had an idea that the doc had been on the horn with Hackett about forcing her to take some R&R.

She wasn’t needed for anything pressing, Hackett said.  The Reapers were just so many heaps of scrap metal scattered throughout the galaxy.  She’d more than done her part, he said.  She’d earned some time off, he said.  He’d silenced her protests by making the suggestion an order.  Now there was nothing to be done but follow orders, and she mumbled something under her breath about what she thought about those orders.

She heard a stifled laugh behind her, and she turned to see Samantha step out from behind the bulkhead.  Sam was holding one hand over her mouth to keep from giggling even more, but wasn’t having much success.  In the end, Shepard gave up and smiled, shaking her head.

Decorum be damned, Shepard pulled Sam close.  She wrapped her arms around Sam’s petite frame, and pressed her cheek against Sam’s hair.  “I guess you heard him?  We’ve been ordered to take some R&R,” Shepard said, exasperation coloring her tone.  Sam leaned back a bit, looking into Shepard’s eyes before answering, “yes, I rather thought he might.”  Sam poked her finger repeatedly into Shepard’s uniform where her N7 insignia was sewn, “you’ve earned some time off after saving the world!  And I know you well enough to know that a direct order was the only way you’d stop and take a breath.  You’ve been going nonstop for so long you don’t know how to slow down anymore.”

Sam stepped back, a shy smile on her face.  “Besides, you promised to take me somewhere nice.”

With that, she turned and walked towards the war room, turning her head to say, “now I’m going to find somewhere secluded and tropical for us to get cozy.  See you back in the CIC, Commander.”

I'm sure this has been covered already nut I just saw it for the first time and had to post.

A bra? In the shower? Really?

A game that allows humans to have their heads turned into must or their bodies into bloody chunks has a full grown woman take a shower in her underwear. Riiight.
