This marks the very first time I have ever created anything out of appreciation for a character. Considering how much I love Traynor, I think she makes a very appropriate place to start.
"Adorkable" is pretty much how I would sum up Samantha Traynor's character. And if you haven't realized it by now, that is a knight chess piece in place of the "r".
Feel free to use it if you like it. (I can't stop you, anyway lol). But don't ask me to make custom ones (I don't have time, sorry!) You'll just have to make do with my Xuan Shepard and Traynor sharing a moment (before assaulting Cronos Station).

I think the captain's cabin feels really sterile and cold in the game, but it looks a lot more comfortable and nice here.

as I was playing femshep full renegade, I invited sam for chess and never got the option to ask about a shower, So I reloaded an earlier save and when sam talks about the cerberus scientists I answered with paragon which later gave me option to ask about the shower.
So with that conversation answer paragon you get shower, with renegade you get only chess.
Just thought I pass this on.

Justtttt a shot in the dark here....but I believe (most) ladies prefer to be treated like ladies. (To the female posters of this thread, correct me if I'm wrong, haha.)
Even my full-Renegade Shepard knows that - thus she is kind and down-to-earth when around Sam. Because Sam is most definitely a lady.

Just for giggles, here's a side by side comparison of Sam and who I think she was based on and would make a great actor for her in a movie.
And the oh-so-awesome Parminder Nagra.
Agree or disagree?

Disagree with the above statement.
Upon my first conversation with Traynor, she struck me as someone of British colonial Indian descent. It would partly explain her accent.

I think they had enough white people in this game already and that's why they brought in Cortez, Vega and Sam as POC.
It's a pretty big issue that in most games, you play a white person surrounded by white people. It's unrealistic.
I also think it's a huge disservice to the VA for Ashley Williams that they made Ashley white. Her voice actor (Kimberly Brooks) is African American.
I think one of the things I've always loved about space opera type stories is there's usually a wider range of ethnicities portrayed. I mean, look at the original Star Trek. Caucasian, African American, Asian, Eastern and Western European thrown in with aliens. That was groundbreaking back in the 60's. And when Kirk kissed Uhura in one episode, it caused a HUGE uproar.
Anyway, I digress. My point is there's too much whitewashing going on in the media as it is. I'll see if I can get an answer from Patrick Weekes, the writer responsible for Sam's awesomeness.

Fair enough, I can see it going either way for that very reason, there was only one other "Indian/Arabic/West Asian" looking character, that being Al-Jilani.
Let us know what you find out!

Per the man himself: "Mixed race, but I had imagined her as (and awesome character art folks worked to make her) British Indian."

When I first saw her, I immediately thought she was of Indian decent, and I was quite excited to see it. (Which is very sad, because we should be well past the point where there's a disproportionate representation of (straight) white (male) characters in games.)
It was more than just her colouring as well - it was her voice.
(Tongue in cheek warning -) I mean, when was the last time you saw a tanned Brit?
