Disagree   I see Traynor as a tanned caucasian, not someone from India/Asia. Thoughts?

Disagree with the above statement.

Upon my first conversation with Traynor, she struck me as someone of British colonial Indian descent. It would partly explain her accent.

Yup I agree with Mugen, the minute I saw her I was like OMG she could be Parminder Nagra's twin, plus she would naturally nail that gorg British southern accent^_^

Good point Zand :) I think what threw me off was how different her skin tone seemed in different lighting.

I guess the reason I never thought of her as anything other than British Indian was that she instantly reminded me of Parminder Nagra.  Like, when she walked into the captain's quarters and started talking, I immediately saw scenes from Bend It Like Beckham in my head.

And another reply from him about Sam.

My reply to him: @PatrickWeekes Awesome! That's what I thought. I imagine her perfect actor to be Parminder Nagra. :) And thanks!

His reply back:  Yes! Although it's hard to hear anyone other than the awesome @AlixWiltonRegan as the voice. :)

I about snorted my soda right there.  haha  Tenth of never would be the answer.

Alix Wilton Regan / Samantha Traynor could read the dictionary to me and I would never, ever get bored.

This is so true.  Phone books.  Cook books.  I don't care.  I'd be like a big gooey puddle of derp.

Does bright orange count? :? I know you were joking but I really am about as pale as is humanly possible, what a crappy summer we've been having this year. I also blame Mass Effect for keeping me in doors for the one week of sun we had.

So, I know that it has already been talked about, but what would you guys like to see for Samantha in future DLC?

I'd love to get a scene with her off the Normandy - I hated that she didn't get a moment on the Citadel like everyone else. Also, I'd love something that made her more involved with Horizon in some capacity, even if it was just her needing to talk about the destruction there afterward (like the scene with Liara after Thessia).

I just hope that Bioware doesn't forget about her and Steve and focus on only improving/adding to squadmate interaction.

i would like that, especially if it leads to Samantha dropping more hints about her interest in Shepard.

As much as I love Samantha, I doubt any future DLC will expand on her (or Steve) outside of the context of the mission. It will most likely focus only on squad mates.

That being said, I would love some more romance specific content for her, maybe some simple acknowledgments of the relationship, some comforting after bad situations (Thessia, Horizon, unforeseen horrible event in DLC), maybe even some time on the Citadel. This pretty much applies to all LI though.

Its unlikely but I can dream, right? I guess thats why we have our headcanon lol.

I would like if there was a bit more flirtation between them as well - it would definitely help build their relationship or make it progress a bit more naturally (since I still think the shower scene feels a bit abrupt).

I know you are most likely right, but I still can't help hoping that Bioware will remember us and throw us a few scraps.
If they don't, headcanon is definitely a wonderful thing and at least ME3 laid the groundwork for it by having Sam be available at all.

I like to see sam and femshep on citadel having ameal or just talking, let femshep have the option to buy 6000 credit toothbrush for sam and as I've mentioned before maybe sam and femshep look for sams parents

"Wait! Shepard, I never said Vancouver is a boring city! It's just that Paris..."
"No, I get it. You probably also like Dr. Michel better than me, don't you?"
"Dr. Michel? I don't even know who --"
"Don't lie to me!"
"Look, I don't even know who this "Dr. Michel" is. And I'm sorry about Vancouver, OK? I want to make it up to you."
"Well... I guess I can forgive you if you feed my fish."
"Never!"

Oh definitely. I spent credits on a book of poetry for Ash, I'd be more than willing to shell out 6000 to buy a toothbrush for Sam.

GO!

Commander Valerie Shepard sat alone at the bar of the port observation deck in the Normandy.  A nearly untouched drink sat in front of her as she was leaned over the bar with her head in her hands.  She was still coping with a lot of stress, anger, and shame at the thought of her last mission and couldn't even bring herself to drink more of the liquid courage that was placed before her.

She knew that she wasn't perfect, but the pain of failure was far from common.  Missions came and went, but her debriefing almost always included the phrase "mission accomplished" in it.  Not this time.

She'd been slow, sloppy, and imprecise down on the Asari homeworld.  She fought her way through the Reaper invasion, but wasn't able to get to the objective quick enough.  Cerberus had beaten her... again.  More importantly, Cerberus beat her to a very important objective: something that was pivotal to winning the war against the Reapers.  Letting that information fall into a terrorist organisation's hands was probably the greatest failure of her career, of her life even, and the shame and remorse was almost too much to bear.

The commander ran the fingers of her right hand through her dark red hair that was still tied back and used her left hand to wipe the tear that was rolling down her cheek.  She clenched her teeth, grabbed the drink in front of her, and threw it back all at once.  As she wiped a little excess alcohol from the edges of her lips, the door to her right opened with a soft whir.

Samantha Traynor walked in almost cautiously and took only a few steps before stopping in her tracks.  She saw the empty glass in Valerie's hand and a sad expression came over her face.

"How many is that now?" the comm specialist asked softly not meaning to accuse or raise any tension.

"One," answered the commander quietly as she turned back to the bar.

"You've been in here for three hours, Val.  You can't expect me to believe -" Samantha started.

"I said 'one.'  Why would I lie?" Commander Shepard blurted angrily at the notion that she had lied.  "I don't deserve a drink?  I can't just sit here and collect my thoughts?"

"I - I didn't mean to upset you," said Traynor timidly looking down at her boots to avoid provoking her girlfriend more.

"Then what'd you come in here for?" Shepard asked turning back towards the nearly frightened woman by the door.

"I just wanted to see if I could help; to give you someone to talk to," responded Traynor still looking at the floor.

Valerie's facial expression softened at the kind words as she realised what she had just said.  She stood up from the bar stool and approached Samantha.  When she was an arm's length away she reached out and pulled Samantha into a tight embrace.

"I'm sorry," Valerie whispered.

"It's okay.  It can't be easy dealing with what happened.  James told me all about it," Samantha replied leaning her head on Shepard's shoulder.

"Things didn't really go as planned," said the commander sadly.

"You'll be alright.  You'll find a way to fix it.  I know you will," reassured Samantha.

"I certainly hope so.  For everyone's sake, I hope so," Shepard said softly as another tear rolled down the other cheek.  "But I just need to be alone right now.  I need to think, to plan."

Valerie pulled away from the hug, kissed Samantha on the forehead, and began to walk towards the door.  Before she was more than a few steps away, she felt a hand grab her forearm and pull her to a stop.

"Are you sure?" asked Samantha kindly.  "You're still human, Valerie.  Sometimes it helps to talk."

Shepard stood still for a moment before responding.  She stared at the door and thought about what her girlfriend had just said.  The commander then turned around, pulled Samantha's hand from her arm, and pressed the hand against her lips.

"I'm sure, Sam," she said without looking up into Sam's now tearing eyes.

Without another word, Valerie turned and exited the room.

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say it'd still be Traynor.  I'm surprised it wasn't EDI as the default unromanced choice at the memorial wall.

@ottifant64 - lovely!
