Hey, Samantha fans! I too, am fond of everyone's favorite Com Specialist, but I have a question: do we know exactly what Sam was doing before she was assigned to oversee Normandy's retrofits/systems? Essentially, was she a straight-up scientist, or researcher, or some such? I know she worked in a lab, but I'm fuzzy on exactly what she did there.

(Also, the title for this thread is so awesome, props to you guys!)

i would say researcher, as she was, and is i believe, working for alliance R&D, which stands for RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT.

She mentions working in R&D (research and development), so she'll probably have been working in a lab type environment crunching lots of numbers and running various simulations.

Being that she's an Alliance Comms Specialist and not a more technical title, I'd say she was working with quantum entanglement communications.  Judging from her expertise with deciphering data, she'shad a lot of experience looking for anomalies in said data.

Genetics mostly, but i was wondering if anyone wanted to see a picture of Samantha/Femshep family at the beach.

she said men have XY chromosome
women have XX-chromosome
without the Y chromosome women will only have girls if they mix their dna

Yeah, that's true. IIRC, some years ago some scientists actually found a theoretical way to fertilize a female egg without using sperm. This, however, will always result in a XX-chromosome since the male spermatozoon is what carries the Y chromosome.

...to cut it short: yeah, just like Asari, FemShep and Traynor can only have daughters.

I'm starting a new Soldier FemShep walktrough these days and I'm totally going to romance her. When you say "last conversation" what exactly do you mean? Before rushing to the beam? Or before Cerberus Headquarters?

(I'm sorry I don't actually know how the Traynor romance work yet.)
