Considering Sam's entire job is based around logistics, studying and analysing data patterns etc. and that her previous job had been working in a lab, why wasn't she also present to bounce idea off of?
Not to mention, we could have them geek out when EDI starts talking about the Basilisk in Galaxy of Fantasy;
EDI: Players complain it is... overpowered?
Sam: Oh please, EDI! I'm a Level 75 Asari Justicar, I eat Basilisks for breakfast!
Shepard: I was talking about the resea-
EDI: Only because you are cheating!
Sam: I do not!
Shepard: Can we-?
EDI: Asari Justicars at higher levels are gamebreakers! Extranet petitions are adamant that the next patch nerf them!
Sam: Asari Justicars are Matriarchs! They are meant to be powerful! You can't make them equal to Turian Rebels?!
EDI: I don't see why-
Shepard: EXCUSE ME! Leviathan?! The thing we're looking for?! Can we find it please?!
Sam: Sorry Commander.
EDI: Sorry Shepard.
Shepard: Thank you! And besides, everyone knows that it's Human Spectres FTW!

So, I've finished DLC for the first time with my DudeShep. Samantha doesn't have any banter.. Everyone else does, but not her. Charming, BioWare. And DLC itself? It wasn't worth it..
Really? I loved it. I'm excited to see what it does to the endings. I had a blast going through it, though.
I liked being in the lab where you can go in the shower and it turns on. When my brother saw that he said "where's Sam?" lol

Well, I didn't like it. The first two mission are boring. I liked the atmosphere, but it didn't help. Last mission wasn't perfect, but at least the sequence with Atlas was interesting, but again.. way too short. I liked banter from our squaddies, too, but I would prefer less shooting, more talking.Flyers215 wrote...

Shepard: I think I've had my share of Lovecraftian horror for a while.
Sam: Well it's movie night, maybe a vid will help take your mind off of things.
Shepard: Isn't it Javik's turn to choose?
Sam: Yes but it can't be.. (scrolls down on her console) he wants to watch The Abyss.
Shepard: (sighs) Great.
Sam: How about a game of chess?
Shepard: Sounds good to me.

I just finished Leviathan and I'm really disappointed that Sam got nothing.
What really sucks is that I feel like one of the three interludes that EDI got would have provided a perfect opportunity for Sam to get off the Normandy and contribute more actively to a mission. I mean, there's a moment when Ann talks about organic quantum entanglement communicators, and I thought this would have been right up Sam's alley, given her interest in QECs. Gah... I'm glad that Steve got some great moments, at least.
I didn't hate the DLC by any stretch (I feel like it was the most substantive ME DLC that I've played), but still...I can't help but feel a little unhappy.
Maybe next DLC? I'm definitely not getting my hopes up though.

with femshep in the lab at the beginning robot girl shows up starts donig things that Sam does I thought WHY this is Sams job should of had robot girl on Normandy and still do those things Sam is better qualified
back in the lab again with Ann and she cries about daddy femshep asks if she needs time and hows she doing
WHY didn't my femshep ask Sam about her parents after Sanctuary or at least give Sam a hug she is my LI
again WHY
when femshep gets back on the Normandy at the end of dlc WHY didn't Sam give femshep a hug or ask if she was ok again WHY
the second time femshep talks with Sam she brings up the toothbrush I thought ok I will buy her one but no I can't not even as a LI but yet I can buy booze and a book for the one in the hospital again WHY
after femshep has second dream in comes whats her name and tell femshep the salarian councillor wants to talk on the vid-comm this Sams job again WHY
there is no scene with femshep and Sam on the citadel again WHY
the romance to me with the amount of time Sam has is the best in my opinion
its the only romance that has two love/sex scenes
the only one that has femshep having doubts when talking with Sam after third dream(if am wrong someone correct me)
the only romance when Sam brings up having a family and house(the last conversation with femshep)(someone correct me if am wrong)
Patrick Weekes wrote Sams character did an excellent job
bioware did very well in having AWR voice her
that is a alot of WHYS bioware I don't believe I want to hear the reasons or excuses am sure I would have a good laugh
being in the military I learned one thing
the maximun effective range of an excuse is zero
I will continue buying your products and any future dlc's I enjoy your games
I just feel Sam got stabbed in the back

I agree, mikefest.
I'm trying to rationalize and think that maybe Bioware couldn't get Sam's VA in for recording, so that's why we got nothing? I hope that this is the case, because now I'm just worried that all DLC will be like this and Sam with be entirely forgotten about.
I may be mistaken (correct me if I'm wrong), but didn't Weeke's have a pretty big role with this DLC? Sam is his (shared) character and still she got nothing. It's not really an encouraging sign. Dusty's post explaining why over in Steve's thread makes me feel even more unhopeful about Sam ever getting additional content. I don't know if Bioware will ever give her a role that they warrant is important enough to pay her VA to record.
Romance is definitely not the only thing I play ME for (I enjoyed the first two games flying solo), but still it sucks that she is the only love interest who is on the Normandy that doesn't get a damn thing.

Samantha: I heard about what happened. Are you alright?
Shepard: I am fine, just feel weird right now.
Samantha: You want me to stay with you tonight
Shepard: Don't you stay with me every night?
Samantha: HA! good point.

Oh man, I agree. I was surprised at how completely mute Sam was the entire DLC. Certainly was Cortez's time to shine though. I assume his scenes are even deeper with a romanced DudeShep involved?Terraforming2154 wrote...

Man, I'm bit by a writing bug to do a FemShep/Samantha piece. She's just far too delightful to be muted.

what do you mean? Maybe I missed somethingdraken-heart wrote...
Sam did have a whole other arc to her character development before. I would not be surprised if she had dialogue written for the DLC and it was cut because the wanted to get it out in time. If anything the timing of Samantha coming in as our comm specialist, it seems weak. Anyways, I am sure there is a logical explanation as to why Samantha has no dialogue, like they are waiting to put her stuff in the romance DLC that they may-or-may not be developing.
As frustrated as I am about no dialogue in the dlc for Sam, I would like to see a romance dlc(unlikely)
would enjoy hearing what the explanation would be I could use a good laugh

as for the first, I believe it was stated before that Samantha's original development was her struggling with her sexuality until someone told the writer how male-oriented that was. so it was changed to the current one. IF someone can get the writer to talk about writing her, would be glad for confirmation of or against it.
As for the last, no clue.

I've gotten the Leviathan DLC, but apparently I haven't gotten far enough in this current playthrough to be able to start it yet (which is actually okay as I want to get Ashley back as well as pick up Javik first). Is there a specific point you have to get to in-game for it to become available?
I did the dlc after I rescued the ex-ceberus scientists

Well, I just started but it looks interesting. Gameplay is little weird for now, but maybe later it'll gets better. Alix is there as Patty, female pirate, yes. Can't say nothing more, but I'll let you know how it is later in gamethemikefest wrote...

I'm still not convinced. Anyway, quote is from Steve's thread.Dusty Everman wrote...
It's costly to bring in a voice actor for just a couple lines. A session is a session, so you are basically paying for 150 lines even if you just record a couple. That's why we can't just throw in lines willy-nilly on the Normandy. Since Cortez was part of the main missions, we were able to add some Normandy banter lines too, but Traynor wasn't, so we couldn't "sneak" in any Normandy lines for her. That's also why you don't get more Joker lines. Seth Green is more famous, and thus earns a higher salary.

It's an explanation, but a really disappointing one.
I wonder if she is just going to be considered peripheral and not worth adding content for in all the upcoming DLC?

if they consider her a side character then they should've not made her a love interest
if they were so worried about the f**king money they could've called me I would pay for her session
again the MAXIMUN EFFECTIVE RANGE OF AN EXCUSE IS ZERO
now am back in a pi**ed off mood so am off to the rifle range down the road

But I'm really bummed that Sam was ignored.
On the off chance that the devs actually read these threads, I just want to add my support to the need for more Sam (or hell, ANY Sam) for any future DLCs.
