why change the renegade and paragon bars like that?

To avoid not being able to resolve conflicts for Paragades and Renegons? I'm really glad they're changing the system, it was just getting to archaic

Also, anyone else noted that the heavy weapon slot was absent?

Yep, wonder why

Great post, OP. The audio is a little mushy, but I get the feeling the guns are going to sound kick ass this time around.

+145% Power recharge speed. :o

And of course, somebody will attempt an adept insanity run with no guns with just liara and kaidan....

I accept the challenge.

I am not talking about the system itself, I am talking about the interface we see. They completely ditched the P/R bars around Shepard's head (and also had Shepard switch position on the screen slightly), seems like an unecessary change.

Unless of course the new P/R/reputation is such a different system that they had to redo the whole UI.

I can tell you from playing the demo at Comic-Con that the interface is now different. The Comic-Con demo didn't show you how many gernades you had. In general there is alot different from then to now.

Great to see the new reputation system. But I hope the demo was played in action mode, I mean it won't be all that great if Shepard keeps talking like that without any interaction on our side.

The game will probably take into account the sum of Para Rene points on some occasions. I believe that's why they changed it to a single bar.

Anyone else wondering what's up with the "health bars?" Seems like a hybrid between ME1 and 2.

Anyone noticed that Wrex's voice is... strange? I seriously hope that they haven't replaced Wrex's voice actor as they did with Mordin...

It is. I remember somewhere somebody saying that hp doesn't recover unless you use a medkit/medigell. (Or was that just for multiplayer?) Either way you are corret that it is a hybrid.

Yeah but most likely the Repuation bar will still reflect your alignment. If you get lots of Renegade pints, the reputation bar will be redder, if you get lots of Paragon points it will be bluer, and if you get some Paragon points and some Renegade it will probably be mixed red/blue.

Yeah. This way you will be able to take Red/Blue/Grey persuasion options even if you play a mixed-alignment character, unlike ME1 & ME2 where you had to stick to one to use Red/Blue persuasion options.

I love the way Cerberus sounds in that demo. The way they chatter and communicate. Sounds much more serious than GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO!!! ENEMIES EVERYWHERE!!

I suppose that's a possibility. Bioware really needs to show us how the new reputation system works and how it co-operates with P/R.

That is not Wrex. That is Wreav. He replaces Wrex if Wrex is killed in ME1.

Ah Wreav, you're nothing compared to Wrex. >:(

Oh.. you're right!

But wait.. does this mean Wrex isn't in the February demo, but Wreav? That would suck, lol.

Some great new stuff in there. I've always valued story and characters etc above RPG elements, but I'm still pleased to see that they've improved them heavily from anything ME1 or ME2 had.

I'm liking the weapon weight system too. I wanted to be an infiltrator with a sniper rifle and an assault rifle, but the negative multiplier to power recharge throws a bit of a spanner in the works. Sniper and SMG may be the way to roll. Decisions decisions...

Probably this. There are paragon and renegade icons next to the reputation meter, so maybe they rise up the meter independantly or something.
