As long as Shepard can survive with reasonable success in the war, I should be alright. I can handle if some of my favorite characters die or even certain species going extinct, I won't like it, but I can take it... what I just cannot stand though is the idea that the only way to win is with a "heroic self-sacrifice." I've put a lot of time and effort into my Shepard(s) and don't want to feel like it was all a waste...

I read somewhere that BioWare says that Mass Effect 3 will feel similar to World War 2.

So I would expect much loss and devastation and even if we get the best ending, Earth will be in ruins, millions dead, many of our comrades dead and Shepard in despair from the horrors of war.

I would think it silly if we can have a rainbows and sunshine ending after such a long and hard journey.

Hmmm.

I wonder what aspects of the ending would generate nerd rage. I'm hoping it means that Shepard can't avoid some casualties this time around. ME3 should not have a fairy tale ending where everyone gets to live happily ever after, enjoying rainbows and butterflies. (a.k.a. the ME2 ending)

Considering that I found around 4-6 endings in the leaked scripts, many will be happy, many will be mad.

But remember this:  Bioware promised an ENDING to Shepard's story.  No one ever promised a happy one.  Or a good one.

This is War.  And worse, a War that losing meant death.

Well, if the leaks are true, as it now sounds;

MacGuffin, 3 magic buttons to choose everyones fate, Reapers motivations are based on the delusions of their creators, and don't hold water, all endings kick you in the balls, and you can't actually win in any of them.

Do not go into ME3 expecting to do anything more than survive. The 3 leaked endings are in no way satisfying, and the 'perfect' ending is complete bollocks, both in terms of not making a lick of sense, and in the fact that it basically lets the Reapers win.

Yeah, I'm deffinately in the hate catagory. I'd actually say those leaked endings are as bad as MGS 2, vanilla Fallout 3, and Star Wars the Force Unleashed for not making sense and leaving you pissed off. They're aimed squarely at the 5% of the population that hate happy endings.

It actually manages to shaft both Paragons and Renegades, and gives it a nice dusting of cliches too. But overall the endings are just flat out vindictive to the player.

You know how Renegades constantly ****** and moan that they get the short straw and Paragons always come out smelling of roses? Mac Walters solution to this was to make sure no one gets what they want, which is kind of messed up.

I actually don't get the 'some will be very happy' comment, unless the leaked script changed, or they really do just mean the tiny tiny minority of people who think happy satisfying endings arte far the idiot masses, and who don't realise they have weird taste.

... this doesn't seem good, well atleast I'm not expecting much to start with due to playing Adept through ME2 on insane and learning "overpower" has been removed and replaced with "biotic grenade".

Damn it all, If I spent hundreds of hours playing ME1 and ME2 just to get shafted at the end of ME3... I was basing my continued support of BW on ME3, I sorta can't wait to see what BIOslaves say after ME3
