It's all the same marketing stuff, but you'll cheer and clap when it's okay and take it all in
I don't. In fact, I take all marketing with a near-lethal pinch of salt, regardless of the game. Now here's the kicker: I doubt the end result of ME3 will disappoint me, and I've made that very clear throughout. But! That is no guarantee. And after the recent developments with SWTOR, Deception and BioWare getting into bed with IGN by employing Chobot for ME3, I've been viewing BioWare with great suspicion. I would even go so far as to call it paranoia. Truthfully, I don't see myself buying another BioWare game after ME3 unless BioWare can shape up in those departments.
Well... there's at least
something we share an opinion on: ME3 is likely going to be my last BioWare game the way they've gone lately. DA2 lost them their "Free Pass" after the BS the developers deliberately shoveled there, and unless ME3 greatly surprises me I don't see myself getting anything further. It's really the make or break for them here.
First of all, those are your perceived cracks. I disagree with a grand majority of them, but you're still entitled to them. What pisses me off is how you announce your displeasure with them, and in what manner you do it. You couldn't just say "I'm getting kind of concerned with stuff in the game and that worries me", but instead go "OH GOD THIS IS A BETRAYAL AGAINST ME AND ALL OF THEIR ORIGINAL FANS, THEY'RE STABBING US IN THE BACK WITH A SHARPENED BUNDLE OF PAYCHECKS FROM EA (WHICH HAS THEIR MAIN OFFICE IN HELL FYI)".
So it's less your opinion I'm opposing, but the annoying, whining and quite frankly infantile manner in which you express it.
Here's the thing... three or so years ago I
did used to express myself with the "I'm getting kind of concerned with BioWare, etc." manner you would prefer me to use. The thing is though, a lot of time has passed since then, and I've had to put up with that entire stretch of time watching them make horrible decision after horrible decision after horrible decision. They are quite frankly beyond the "I'm getting kind of concerned about BioWare" point now after seeing literally years now of bad decision making and an overall direction I strongly disagree with. For every good thing I hear or read, there's at least three really bad ones. I've basically seen all my concerns and warnings from 3-4 years ago about where I fear BioWare are heading come true with revelation after revelation.
BioWare is no longer circling the drain now, they've already pretty much disappeared down the plug-hole. So saying that "I'm getting kind of concerned with BioWare" these days is a bit akin to saying, "I'm kind of concerned I might go to Hell for my misdeeds" while Satan and his devil imps have already been grilling me for a good while. I'm not telling BioWare to watch where they're going; I'm telling them to go back and try and save themselves because they already drove over the cliff.
But it's pretty damn clear with every passing week, they just don't want to.
