I think it takes about 3 main missions worth of time for they to come back, plus additional obstacle which im not discussing here.
I hope that isn't a lot of game time, I really wanted to use Kaidan/Ashley for the entire game.

I think ME3's intro surpasses ME2's intro in every way possible.
It has tension, action, emotion and best of all, it's not overstaying its welcome like ME2's intro did all the goddamn time.
I'd have to agree. From what i've seen via Beta leaks and demos the scale of ME3's opening feels like it's been upped massively. ME2's beginning was very personal to Shepard, however ME3's opening feels like it's effecting the entire galaxy which I think is the exact note Bioware need to hit,

It mentions ashley and kaidan both being soldiers sharing the same basic abilities. I think/hope he's wrong as kaiden should have biotics.

He has enough screen time for the Collector's Edition to come with a bonus outfit. Cameo characters don't get bonus outfits.Splinter Cell 108 wrote...
How much does that comeback last? I don't want him/her coming back at the end of the game. I want Kaidan as one of my most used squadmates in ME3. Does she/he come back after one mission, two missions?
Come on, logic, people. Even if you DIDN'T read any spoilers, you'd know "VS dies in first mission" is BS.

Its about 40% of the main game if you skip all the side missions.

Wonderful... I don't suppose they come back if you do enough side missions?

The Kaidan/Ashley dieing in the first mission is being beleived because Bioware DID hype up one character, and killed her after 1 (yes ONE) mission (Mhairi from Dragon Age: Awakening).
Interesting story, tho...

Probably leaving Anderson behind counts as one this time. Because all of them (bioware's tradition) died in the intro.

Apparently a huge-ass Reaper invasion on Earth isn't exciting enough.
Also, he thinks James Vega is boring. His opinion is now invalid.
