Hey guys, wassup?
Found this article, thought it was pretty interesting.
As well as focusing on all the good stuff Mass Effect 3 has improved on, it also talks about a few of the negatives the writer found during his run through, he mentions that the opening is dull and that James Vega is rather boring...

Whereas being an a**hole is never productive and only serves to ruin your credibility. Whatever point the other poster crossed, they still have enough tact not to throw around petty insults.

Also there is fighting in this thread. I'm going to ask y'all to cut it out. Arcian, in you I am disappoint.

Arcian has never been a mature poster, just FYI.
That said, I don't think being mean or nice matters as long as you make a valid point.

Mass Effect is a game, not an interactive book.
Funny, because I remember some of the earliest comments to sell the original Mass Effect was the fact that it was basically your own interactive science fiction story where you got to make the decisions.
These changes are game mechanics, i.e the core f***ing features of the game.
They weren't "core f***ing features" of the previous two games in the series. Why the hell should they be core features now? They're superfluous and unnecessary, IMO. Especially the Kinect which isn't even part of two of the three versions of the game. If it's a "core mechanic" then how does that work exactly?
If you're only looking for stats and storytelling in games, you should really drop video games and go back to pen and paper.
Funny... up until recently I used to be able to have both. For 25 years I could have that in both pen and paper, and when playing video games. BioWare video games at that. Now, that's no longer the case, clearly.
>Taking marketing seriously

What are you, 2 years old?
I see. So, it's okay to take all the other marketing you like seriously that illustrates the things you enjoy about the game and that accurately represent it, but when it not okay to believe the same marketing when it's false, misrepresents the game and has stuff you don't like?
It's all the same marketing stuff, but you'll cheer and clap when it's okay and take it all in, then chastise me for pointing out the cracks? Okay... sure...

Why is there so much swearing and rage on the forums? Why? Let's go back to being productive before thread get's banned.
I do like the opening of Mass Effect 3. Some exciting news being given. New powers, new missions, new characters, new everything. I am so excited.

Wait... so Terror_K is basically saying that gameplay isn't the core of a video-game? lol...
I think it is core to games in general but it needn't necessarily be core to a series.
Mass Effect was marketed and designed as a specific kind of Sci-Fi.
The combat gameplay has improved in each game but everything else has changed.
ME2 felt a little bit less like Ridley Scott/TNG/Heinlen science fiction and more like comic-book science fiction.
ME3 so far looks more like a Hollywood Summer Blockbuster.
You can understand how this might annoy someone who was a fan of the first type, I'm sure.

He can be really funny and really thoughtful when he wants to be. He usually is. You probably just don't like him because he disagrees with you (which is usually how things go with you, unfortunately). And seriously, there are times when I myself have wanted to b*tch Terror out. Terror's smart, but has a tendency to... overreact.Saphra Deden wrote...

We're all incredibly flawed human beings here, and we all get on each other's nerves. Doesn't mean we have to start cussing each other out and calling names and stuff.
Even though I do it all the time. Gleefully and with great vigor.
Maybe I should give up on this whole peace and cooperation thing and let chaos and anarchy finally win here, eh?

Yes, we went from a Movie, to a Soap Opera, to a musical composition with Mozart and a cannon.

No. I'm saying that gameplay that didn't exist in the previous two titles and suddenly does now that is for the most part purely optional isn't part of the core gameplay of the game. For example, part of the gameplay in ME2 is shooting pyjaks on Tuchanka in a minigame, but it doesn't make it part of the core gameplay. Not every aspect of gameplay is essential. Now granted, Kinect support, special melee moves and multiplayer are more integral to the gameplay for ME3 than that was for ME2, but the point still stands that they aren't part of the overall core Mass Effect gameplay across the trilogy, else they would have been in the other two.
