With having chosen Liara as my LI, and Garrus as pretty much my right hand man, I'd be completely devastated losing one of them. And after reading the script, I feel like one of them might not make it through.

Is there any squadmate or NPC that you couldn't stand to lose?

Did we read the same script?

I've been having to come to terms with some of them...but I'm getting the player's guide for a reason. They actually have a chapter devoted to story choices and how they affect the story as a whole. It's the only way I won't be paralyzed by indecision.

How much is this guide?

I think I'll do that for my second playthrough, but for my first I want to make decisions based on solely what I know from the game, so the playthrough can be "realistic" and I suffer the consequences of my decisions.

There are two versions and the price depends on the store.  Default price is $40US for the CE version and $25US for the standard version.  Both are cheaper on amazon, though, and can be preordered.

Standard Version

Collector's Edition

The official guide will have every single variable or encounter completed. There will probably will be a Virmire survivor situation where someone has to die to detonate a huge bomb or distract the reapers long enough so Shepard can achieve his mission objective ... (It can't be Shepard death not until the end if the paragon or renegade ending involves Shepard's death to save the galaxy).

As sad this may be you will have to choose.

Some people are either too melodramatic or take gaming too serious.

No, it's just becoming emotionally attached to the characters. It's not like I'll sleep into a deep depression, but I'll definitely feel sad, but I wouldn't go as far as crying, because after all it's just a game. And I'm not a pussbag.

Aren't any squad deaths your fault and none are scripted per say?

I believe so, so I'm really afraid to keep the two in my squad.

I already had to deal with losing Ashley, which I absolutely hated. While I hate to have anyone die, my overprotectiveness will definitely kick in when it comes to Shepard and Kaidan.

That guide is mighty tempting... But I think I want to wing it, and hope that the choices I make end up being the right ones. If my first playthrough blows, I'll try a second time, and then I'll probably use the internet to get the best ending (should I fail the first time).

I think they meant the squad as a whole not the ones you pick with you

@AEM,

Suck it up. Bioware wouldn't kill their perfect child Liara or superstar Garrus. Period. They'll pretend to put them in danger then negate it and let Shepards that romanced them fly off into the sunset.

My heart can't take losing Thane.

So what would happen if you had to choose between Garrus or Liara?

Ehhh...yes and no.

You'll find out...unless BW does some changes.

Then you won't be happy.
If I had to choose between Garrus and Liara, yikes, I'd have to go with Liara just because she's my LI, but Garrus is my bromance. And from what I've read from the script, there's a very emotionally effective way that BW does to make you choose who you want to "save".

They have already said the ending will make people angry (The Virmire Situation). Where you have to order someone to do die and it won't be your LI. It sucks if its between Garrus or Liara most people will pick their LI.

I wouldn't be surprised if it does come down to Liara or Garrus. Personally id pick Liara cause shes LI (Nothing against Garrus, id save him but i can't have a relationship with him as a male Shepard he is equally tied against Liara as NO.1)

I dont see how they could get away with a Liara/garrus situation since Garrus can already be dead before you even start the game...

though if there was liara would die every time...even ignoring the fact I plan to off her any ways (same with Kaidan)

There are some circumstances where *mumble mumble* and you're left with having to *mumble mumble* and then you have to make a choice and someone dies while another lives.  Perhaps sometimes maybe it changes on the circumstances.  Apparently this happens multiple times with various characters and situations.  Again, pending circumstances.

...Hence why I'm getting the guide day one. :D
