My heart can't take losing Liara or Garrus.

Spoiler

It's a Liara or VS virmire type scenario, actually.
I have to say I find little reason not to save Liara if the VS isn't your romance. The VS isn't exactly as trustworthy as Liara is in this game.

Oh and there doesn't seem to be a scenario where Garrus can die - what a surprise.

Again, I don't recall any of this from the script, or this ever having been brought up in the spoiler group. Where are you getting this from?

*shrug* Some people don't follow what the devs say as...voraciously as some others do.  :P If they had, they'd likely have seen this coming.

But yeah...it's complicated guys.  If what I've read is correct, and remains correct for the final script, then there are several circumstances and variables at play.  But as the devs stated, there will be a lot of sacrifice and there will be people left very angry with Bioware.  And then there will be those who are happy.

If it's the spoiler that I now see you just posted above, that was from the rough story summary part of the leak, which seems to predate the dialogue script also found. The latter has no such situation of choosing between squadmates occur.

I dont see how they could get away with a Liara/garrus situation since Garrus can already be dead before you even start the game...

though if there was liara would die every time...even ignoring the fact I plan to off her any ways (same with Kaidan)

Good point then its Ash/Kaiden vs Liara. That makes it so much easier.

PS i am just hypothising as what bioware thinks is an angry reaction from its fans (Usually this invovles killing a major character)

I skim spoilers after I found out what they dd to Jack. After that I''ve abstained from spoilers almost entirely. I guess that's the only thing I have to check on by the time I meet Jack. Other than that I'm just glad they finally give us an option to kill Liara. Her invulnerability was becomming annoying.

Correct.
It's possible that it's outdated and they removed it.

The allegedly most recent script does not have any mention of Liara dying, so it's possible that she's simply immortal (tad disappointing, but not a big shocker).

people who want melodrama will be happy. people who want a perfect ending? not so much. the smug gloating of the so called renegade players will be unbearable on the forums for a while. Liara and Garrus will get some special treatment... as usual. in general - fans of the more popular characters will get better endings and better options then those of less popular characters.

and that collector's edition guide is unbearably tempting due to this:

• Behind-the-Scenes at BioWare: Exclusive photos, art, and interviews throughout an additional 32 pages. Learn how the team in Edmonton created the Mass Effect Universe from Cinematics to Characters, Art, Audio and more
• Digital access to the web product: All the content from the print guide in digital form, plus 6 interactive multiplayer maps, clickable screens, and supporting video
• See Mass Effect 3 like never before: Discover environments and parts of the game you won't see anywhere else. Panoramic views will leave you amazed

Seriously, guys? What's the point of using a guide on your first runthrough? God forbid you, you know, make your own choices.

As for party members I'd actually feel bad about losing:

VS (seriously, they get screwed every game)
Kasumi
Zaeed (well, not so long as he died a warrior's death)

Other deaths may be sad for a few moments, but hey, it's an extermination, you just fight through them.

I believe in making informed decisions, especially when one's (read: my) time is limited and one (read: I) does not have the energy, time, or inclination to make multiple playthroughs.  I'm not an altoholic.  My friends are, but I'm not cut from that cloth.  I devote insane amounts of energy into my initial playthrough.  MAYBE a second playthrough.  Generally don't make it to a third before I've moved on.  So I want my game to end up as I would like...and then I can watch other outcomes and scenarios on youtube at my leisure.  And unless you're paying for everyone's guides and games and playing their games for them, I think having a problem with what others do with their time, money, and playthroughs is a misapplied concern.  To each their own.

Informed decisions by looking ahead to the ending and how things turn out? I understand time restraints, but come on now; let it turn out how it turns out.

And I don't care how you play the game, but I can judge you for it. ~_^

Hey, others can play the game they paid for as they wish, and you can play the game you paid for as you wish. My game's goin' my way and unless you want to pay for my game and guide, I don't want to hear it. Because it goes both ways. :P

Is there any squadmate or NPC that you couldn't stand to lose?

It depends on what you mean by that

If you mean going into a nerd rage over my favorite characters dying, and blasting Bioware for not having an 'everyone lives' ending, than no. I think this time around there should be some casualties on Shepard's squad. Besides being a bit more realistic considering that this is supposed to be the most epic conflict in the known history of the galaxy, it also would add emotional impact to the story. I'm 100% in favor of an ending that mixes both tragedy and triumph.

However if you just mean are there characters I'd be upset over (in a good way) if I lost them, than absolutely. Garrus & Liara in particular

Well I always play Sentinel so I do not run Liara in ME1. Garrus is my bro. We've fought through every battle together. He is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS in my Squad. So Liara can die for all I care. I never grew emotionally attached to her in any way, shape or form. Now Ashley on the other hand...

I kinda hope there are moments where at least Garrus has the possibility to die. I really like Garrus, he's the ultimate bro, but the potential for Shepard's character to develop as a human is just too good to pass up.

I hope they don't try to Virmire Kaidan again... or at least hopefully the choices will be obvious and I wont end up accidentally killing all my favourite squadmates because I chose the wrong pair of socks to wear that day... Anyway as long as they don't do to Kaidan what they did to Alistair in Dragon Age (Spoiler: Either he dies at the end or you have to make him perform a.. ahem.. "dark ritual" with the witch...) then I'll be happy. :P

I side with you 50% OP. Must have Liara. I like Garrus a lot but if a choice had to be made, it would be easy. Wrex must survive as well as Ashley/Miranda and Joker. If they are alive at the end of this (Plus my Shepard of course which I am nervous about) then I am a happy gamer.

It would be a difficult choice but it's the sort of thing I want from ME3. I don't want the perfect world ending, I want consequences for my actions and to feel like I'm fighting unbeatable odds.

Yup, I can't think of any reason for picking the VS over anyone else, unless for RP reasons. Hell, I like Vega more than the VS!

He can die in ME2, no character development followed as a result. I doubt that's changed.
