Loss is an interesting thing. If it is absent, we feel as if the story is weak. If it occurs, we feel like the writers made a mistake. I prefer a little realism in my games. This is a war to end all wars. I would find it very odd that everybody makes it out in one piece. Therefore, everybody should have the same chance of dying on the field of battle including Shepard. Just my opinion.

Nope, I can handle losing anybody.

Agreement. Anyone I lose will be a terribly sad moment for me. Obviously some more than others but there is no one I'll enjoy seeing die of the squad

Fortunately both Garrus and Liara are more important in ME3 to the overall plot than the VS so better chances for them.

With having chosen Liara as my LI, and Garrus as pretty much my right hand man, I'd be completely devastated losing one of them. And after reading the script, I feel like one of them might not make it through.

Is there any squadmate or NPC that you couldn't stand to lose?

Weak.

If it would mean saving millions by sacrificing Garrus or Liara, I would do it without a seconds thought. But I would be gentle. I'm still a nice person within.

Liara's got like the most invincible plot armor in the series anway, so I don't see the point in fearing for her life.

It would be satisfying if you got to kill them.

If you want to kill Garrus, just send him in the vents in ME2.

Riiight. Your anti-VS bias aside - there's a catch. As much as I like Garrus, he doesn't even have to survive ME2 so I'm not sure he is that important to the overall plot. He might have some importance or his presence could have certain consequences, but the game can go on w/o him.

We go to the Turian homeworld (The turians are not exactly friendly with shepard since his race killed a lot of them in the first contact war and basically embarssed them before the counil intervened) Garrus will be useful to have around because he knows how things roll and work on his homeworld and could avoid shepard killing turians etc and get him in touch with former trusted contacts.

Planning to take over as Shadow Broker, are we?

Or is it more simpler than that?

Shephard was not in the first contact war..... You do know the first contact war was in 2157? ME3 is in 2186 i believe and shep is in his/her early 30's.... doesnt match up..

No, I'd be incredibly happy if she remained the Shadow Broker, provided she actually did her job and that means wasted away in the middle of nowhere so I never have to see her again.

Nope, I'm pretty good and dealing with 1st World problems - that, and I hate Liara - and tolerate Garrus.

I'd probably throw my ME3 discs out the window if Liara dies =]
