It would be satisfying if you got to kill them.

If you want to kill Garrus, just send him in the vents in ME2.

But I want it to be dramatic with a plot dependant reason to shoot him in his flimsy jaw flaps.

I don't really care if either of them die. I mean I like Garrus, but whatever.

With having chosen Liara as my LI, and Garrus as pretty much my right hand man, I'd be completely devastated losing one of them. And after reading the script, I feel like one of them might not make it through.

Is there any squadmate or NPC that you couldn't stand to lose?

Imagine spending so much time on ME3 and videogames that you neglect your social life and school. Imagine being so obsessed about virtual characters that don't mean anything in a few months time. Imagine not being able to even finish college, and have only a long Xbox & facebook friends list to brag to your relatives about. Years from now, while your friends are leading productive lives and moving up the social-income ladder, you're still stuck at the same place taking up pointless menial jobs at fast food restaurants and video stores. Mass Effect by then is seen as a retro-nerd game by kids 10 years younger than you, who are by the way still working hard to get an education and enjoying games in moderation.

When you're 40 middle-age crisis hits you hard and you realize just how worthless you are, but your parents are no longer around to support your bum ass. You're unmarried and unwanted. Diabetes and hypertension creep up on you after years of body neglect and couch sitting. You've wasted your life.

Can your heart take that?

I just had to stop and say that was hilsriously frank. Really godda** funny and acurate of people who take their nerd obsessions to a level that is incomprehensible.

Yeah, screw what I said on the earlier page. If Liara dies, I will go downstairs and shut the power off to the whole damn house the moment it happens.

*gets to Liara death scene*

Me: "What the FFFF...."

*runs downstairs and flips the switch*

I wouldn't want to lose Tali, Garrus or Liara.
But honestly.. I think in retrospect I would love it if I had to make a choice between saving them. Because that would be a moment I'll remember for a long time having to kill off one of my all-time favourite characters. It would be horrible at the time, but there's a reason Virmire is such a significant moment.

Actually, no. I pretty much expect BioWare to keep forcing her on me 'till the end of the game. I won't be surprised if she's invincible, and definitely won't be flipping any switches over it. Otherwise, I'd just be standing awkwardly in the dark for about 30 seconds, then turning the electricity back on. And that's not much of a reaction. I'll facepalm, like I did before whenever my Shep got happy to see her.

Her
design, personality and the way she talks irritate me. Her role in the
story, and the fact BioWare forces my characters to like her even though
they don't.

I have to agree.
Sadly, I haven't seen anything in the script so far that really gives Shepard the chance not to be canon friends with her.

@Solid: Again agreed. Most I'll do is facepalm if Shep's all "YO LIARA <3!" that and wince at my Shep's characterization assassination.

I knew it. I just hope I can succeed in ignoring her for the majority of the game, like I did in ME1 and 2.

We keep being on the same page lately. :P
Yeah, I'll just pretend that never happened. Kind of like Deception.

Shepard: Oh Liara, you are so smart, and so funny, and so, so beautiful.

I wish YOU were my love interest.

You must have played a different game than I did. Shepard can be quite rude to Liara on Ilium.

@Godwood: LMAO

@Rhero3: You mean that weak "You handed me to Cerberus? Why?" (and I don't count the romance exclusive content because...well if my Shep didn't like her he sure in hell wouldn't romance her.) that was answered with a "How could I let my friend die?" and he acted like that was some award winning arguement and he ought to feel chastised for bringing it up in the first place?

I do admit to LMAO at how quickly my Shep looked away when she looked back at him after he declined letting her back on the Normandy during LoTSB.

@Solid: But you'll never truly forget Solid. YOU'LL NEVER FORGET! :crying: It'll always lurk in the dark corners...watching.

I think Garrus is more Shepard's canon friend than Liara. But as you can kill him, I suppose it's not as big a deal. I like both characters anyway, so I don't mind personally if you're forced to not be mean to them.

But at least if I get to kill her, I'll feel slightly better.

Yeah I am nervous about how things will transpire with the squad in ME 3. I am excited but a bit nervous at the same time. Oh well that is where the magic of a new playthrough comes in. Hopefuly if people do die it isn't necessarily the same person every playthrough. I could live with a virmire situation where we can at least choose who lives.

Even if you don't like the wording, Bioware doesn't force Shepard to like her. And the Illium dialogue was for romanced Liara even more unsatisfying. Liara's explanation is easy to miss and Shepard can't even mention the romance, I think the whole scene was a mess.
