I obtained a copy of Mass effect 2 with my purchase of DA2 , since i already own ME1 & 2 for the xbox i did not download it on the pc till recently. However i have since gotten a new pc and want to play ME3 on that and there for am going to replay Me2 (already did me1)
The problem is that when i try and open ME2 it loads in the taskbar but will not load the game up past that. I used the origin downloader to install and download it twice. No luck i cannot get it to work just sits there in the back ground not loading up. Please help
ME2 won't open in Origin

1) Are you running the game as Admin and in XP compatibility mode sp 2 or 3?
2) Have you updated the game to the latest patch? http://social.biowar...age/me2-patches
3) Can you find the Config utility inside the Bioware folders and run it directly to see if it posts up any red flags?
I am betting 1 or probably 2 will fix your issue.

I have the same problem with Dragon Age and in my case it's an issue with Origin (another reason why they shouldn't make it a requirement to run ME3). Just don't open it in Origin. Keep Origin off and find the MassEffect2 executable in your Origin Games folder.

running in compatibility mode dose not work , in fact instead of staying in the processed tab of the task mannager it now closes after 10 seconds and dose not appear again.

There's just not much of anyone in here these days. I have no answer, and by now, any of the few of us still hanging around who had an answer, would have told you what they know. You'll need to use the archives.
