I like it that emotional paragons will going to Sacrifice their squads in ME3!
Yes, it's called good writing and story telling.
The execution of it has yet to be seen.

I don't doubt Bioware...I know their MO and they do good work.

Because the "best" outcome is sending character/species/groups/armies to their death.
Most likely characters the player cares about.

Reapers gonna reap. Better they die fighting than die indoctrinated.
Besides, given that we have fewer squadmates in ME 3, and two of them might not be there at all if they died in ME 2, you shouldn't worry too much about the main cast.
Thane's dying anyway, might as well make it quick rather than a slow, painful death in a hospital bed.

Why? One of them was forced upon you in ME 1 by your supposed friend and mentor along with a politician, the other is a geth who may very well be lying to your face; he provides no evidence of his claims and, worst comes to worst, you have Overlord, which could cause another split in the Geth if not cause them all to come under your sway.

Oh, so now renegades are heartless monsters? That's quite a claim you have there.

No, but full renegades who makes all renegade decision are.
As for me, it did hurt because I "care" about the characters. Tali was throughout all the games a friend and companion who stuck there through thick and thin. Legion was a peacebringer who just wanted what (hopefully) we all want for everyone...peace.

I'm starting to get the feeling you don't pay attention to ANY of the discussion or conversation in ME because this very thing is brought up SEVERAL times and answered as to why the Geth couldn't/didn't do anything.
I'm talking about that period of 300 years after the geth slaughtered 99% of the quarian population.Simple answer...the Quarians never let them get the chance.

Communication would have been possible, they simply chose not to.
And so they should. The geth slaughtered billions of non-combatants, kicked them off their homeworld and have been slaughtering anyone who so much as comes near them for 300 years.incinerator950 wrote...
It would have, but the general consensus with the Quarians is that they want to kill the Geth.
The odds haven't been in their favour for 300 years. Also, what are they supposed to do? Never have the geth indicated they're open to peace.Every time the Quarians knew the odds were in their favor, they've attacked 100% of the time.

And like I said, in 300 years they've never thought to tell anyone who isn't Shepard that. And Legion says to Shepard's face that the non-heretic geth are open to peace.
Again a select 'few' ordered the termination of the geth.incinerator950 wrote...
The Geth formed a semblence of Sapience, when the Quarians found out, they reacted poorly. The Geth defended themselves. I can't but feel apathy for the Quarians, they brought it on themselves.

A select few ordered the termination of the geth race. That hardly justifies the complete and total annihilation of every single quarian man, woman and child.
Think harder about that. At 50% the quarians would've no longer been a threat, if they wanted they could've negotiated a peace but no, they continued to relentlessly slaughter billions and billions of innocent non-combatants.

1. You sure do like semantics, don't you? How is Koris a traitor?
2. Again, Legion says (to Shepard's face) that no one has interacted with a non-heretic geth since the end of the Morning War. Ergo, no one that isn't a krogan or an asari.
