Cooler? Maybe, yes. He seems like the (Aliens) Colonial Marine type of hard-ass soldier, which I find appealing for a squadmate/subordinate.
As for his personality, I haven't see enough of it to judge it.

Heh. No. The VS has been there since the very start, helping Shepard when they didn't have to. They're old friends/lovers/comrades to both my Sheps. And If I could have both Kaidan and Ashley instead of Vega, I would. He's seems okay, but I'd prefer having Kaidan back.

He definitely seems more realistic than VS that advanced from mere gunnery chief to commander and spectre because of fake boobs and illuminating the glorious light of Shepard.
That's also biased. I like Kaidan more than Vega though.

Does anyone else think that Stardusk is completely obsessed with the VS with how many threads he makes about them?
Vega is okay from what I've read, but his jokes are kind of corny and I'm not fond of the nickname he gives Shepard. I don't dislike him so far, but I would totally trade him for having both Ashley and Kaidan back in ME3.

See, I totally like Vega, but I don't quite understand your obsession with trying to prove that the VS is not 'cool' or not 'interesting'.
To each their own, some of us like them, some of us don't...why the constant comparisons?

MaleShep is definitely Loco, you can hear it in the Freddie Prinze Jr. intro video.
At one point FemShep was called Loca by Vega, but they changed it to Lola. Maybe they thought being called crazy is more insulting to female players? All I know is that all I would think of is the Kinks song. No thanks.
