As a Prince its my duty to lead.
I had to. Didn't have an option.
And I couldn't of done it without the thousands of us, spread through so many web pages, backing us up.
I couldn't of done it without the Bioware Social Network- the fans who cared enough to keep up with me, rapid speed and all.
Thank YOU. I humbly thank ALL of you.
But be ready. You never know if we'll have to do this again.
Just rest easy. Get some sleep, let your minds come to rest, and hell, read a book(I just purchased a How to Ride Horses book at my local bookstore).
Relax, and celebrate.
We won.
It's also a prince's duty to provide for the troops. In that light, I expect lots of alcohol and women on my doorstep. Pronto.
Ask around, I provided the troops with more posts than probably everyone else combined.
Oh, I know. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity for such a lame joke.

Think of this as the Highlander 2 of the series. For this is the Renegade Cut.

Now folks, this is a step in the right direction, but this isn't a victory, they didn't declare it non-canon, they said they will fix it. Until we have the fixed book this isn't over.
And I'm skeptical, this book needs more than fixing mistakes, even giving Gilliam her autism back will (or should) warrant a good deal of rewriting.
That's just it- The book in its current state is no longer canon.
They'll "fix it". Honestly it needs a rewrite in its entirety, but we'll see what happens.
Now we play the waiting game.
The "Cold War" as it is.
And let's hope it never gets hot again.

Be grateful you at least got a reply. But then again, that's probably asking too much of most of the self-serving, delusionally-entitled masses.

You would have been more convincing if you hadn't made those obvious and horrendous mistakes in the first place. You show your fan base you care by maintaining a high standard from the START, not a half assed one later on down the road.Chris Priestly wrote...
Mass Effect fans have been asking for a comment on recent concerns over Mass Effect: Deception. We have been listening and have the below response on the issue.
The teams at Del Rey and BioWare would like to extend our sincerest apologies to the Mass Effect fans for any errors and oversights made in the recent novel Mass Effect: Deception. We are currently working on a number of changes that will appear in future editions of the novel.
We would like to thank all Mass Effect fans for their passion and dedication to this ever-growing world, and assure them that we are listening and taking this matter very seriously.

They're making a revised copy, and gonna pull the current books.
Which makes the current edition rare and collectable.
So... many people will be buying the current edition because it'll be rare and collectable..
...I see what you're doing there, Bioware :3

Shame. I sincerely hoped "more places to explore on the Citadel" included Anderson's cereals cupboard.DashRunner92 wrote...
I would love to know how this book did not get red-flagged by Bioware. I'm guessing that their will be no easter egg references to Deception in ME3.

Wow, it only took three days to get them to apologize and promise what has to be a massive rewrite, I'm impressed to say the least.
In fairness, these threads ran for 11 days before we got a response. I think the momentum we had even before realease is what made the difference. Still, less then 3 days after realease is pretty impressive.
I certainly will not be buying a copy of this book though. Either now or in the future. I don't think Bioware can really salvage it. They can do a lot to address the issues, but I think it's going to remain outside my own personal canon no matter what they do.

"Mass Effect: Deception - Historic item" This was the very burnt copy that help inspire Bioware to re-edit the book. $1000 dollars."

Pretty much this for me, as well - a lot of issues can be fixed, that's for sure, but some of them (especially Gillian's autism) would require a complete rewrite of the novel's plot, which I honestly don't see happening at this point (though BW has, admittedly, surprised me with this apology and commitment to improve the novel).izmirtheastarach wrote...

Incidently, I just started reading Ascension and though I already know the ending from my research for this Deception debacle, I can already say for my own "head canon", Gillian and Hendel will forever be travelling on the Idenna - never to engage in the events that occur in Deception.
