Genshie: Without going into major spoiler territory, the Adjutants have nothing to do with the Grayson/Reaper tech experiment in Retribution or Cerberus's plan to make "an army of Graysons" which is discussed at the end of Deception.

I read all the books and comics. And unless you read the unofficial leaked script how do you know for certain? And that is not really fair to the writers at all if you are pulling info from something that isn't already released. If anything this was fail misinterpretation between the writer and Bioware itself.

Well, initially I was refering to the leaked script, but then I remembered that Game Informer actually explained it in one of their articles: http://social.biowar...3/index/8949717

At the end of the mission, you learn there's a reason they've been keeping the Cerberus troops covered up in promo material: apparently, husk-tech has been adapted by Cerberus and used on its soldiers, resulting in glowing eyes and disfigured faces.  The writer had Kaidan alive, and notes that he reacts to this by asking if Shep knew anything about Cerberus doing stuff like this.  I.e., complete trust is not yet there (please feel free to rage about this somewhere else).

Long story short, the Grayson experiment in Retribution paved the way for Cerberus's new soldiers in ME3.

Not to nitpick, but trolling and putting up posts that take up half a page are also against the rules.

You are insisting on having an argument about an issues that has already been settled.

He is not trolling. He is making a valid arguement that you are dismissing by calling him a troll.

Well I can see why the Illusive Man doesn't want his dirty laundry being made public.

Cerberus wants to be known as Pro-Human. Seeing what they did to Paul Grayson would sour human opinion of them. Even if the Alliance labels them as terrorists, plenty of humans, like their sponsors, think they wouldn't do something like that to one of their own.

The truth of it is, Mr Jack Harper doesn't want people to know that his real goal is to put himself on top of the galaxy and to hell, or worse, with anybody who gets in his way. He'd probably rather see humanity burn with the rest of the galactic community than see humanity rise with someone else as their leader Like Commander Shepard, a natural leader who can inspire people to follow him without a big fat checkbook.

Did you read the book? He's upset because the council believes that he's a bad guy. At no point in ME2 did that ever concern him at all.

EDIT: Yuoman, why do you keep doing this to me?

Well keep in mind that a worsened reputation with the council could limit the activities he's allowed to do in Citadel space. I remember that same situation being mentioned in a random ME2 mission where you can choose what to do with incriminating data on Cerberus.

Sounds like TIM might not want any unnecessary problems popping up from this.

Ok, I've actually just started reading Ascension and I gotta say, I am literally laughing my ass off at not just the far better prose of Karpyshyn over Dietz, but at just how different (and correct to his portrayal in ME2) the Illusive Man is shown between both novels:

Ascension:

As a man of vision, he understood this. Without Cerberus, humanity was doomed to an existence of groveling subservience at the feet of alien masters. Still, there were those who would call what he did criminal. Unethical. Amoral. History would vindicate him, but until it did he and his followers were forced to exist in hiding, working toward their goals in secret.

Deception:

“Yes, you did,” the Illusive Man agreed, as he flicked ash into a tray made of black oynx. “But you may recall that we were forced to leave Grayson’s body behind as we fled the space station. That allowed David Anderson and Kahlee Sanders to preserve the corpse and use it as part of a presentation to the Citadel Council. And in spite of Anderson and Sanders’s efforts to warn the Council members about the Reapers, they blame Cerberus for what took place. I don’t like that. Our credibility is at stake.”

Umm... Those are, respectively, a description and a chunk of dialog. That is pretty much how the TIM talks in-game. The only thing that might be called a mistake is that the action line setting up the dialog could have been condensed a bit. Image IPB

That is right. Nevermind I just didn't recall that the Adjutants being already made before Cerberus got there. Or wait... Did Cerberus make them or where they there prior to their arrival?

He is filling up the thread with quote pyramids, and trying to argue about the validity of our complaints. Which is absurd, because Bioware just publicaly announced that our complaints are valid and the book is being rewritten. What is the point of arguing about something that is no longer valid according to the people who made it?

Thank you. Not to mention my post taking up half a page is a blatant exaggeration. I've seen plenty of posts longer because of excessive quoting.

Semantic arguments are fun. Everything can be explained if you make up a bunch of things that aren't in the book. But why should I have to do that?

I shouldn't, which is why this book has been sent back to the drawing board.

- As for the complaint about Volus with their faces partially exposed. I remember hearing an advertisement on Illum for therapies that Volus and Quarians can take so they can work on places that don't like exo-suits. It apparently has a %40 success rate or something.

This one is really funny. Yes, quarians can take off their suits (and get nasty infection), because they live in same PRESSURE like humans, turians etc. Volus wearing pressure suits and when you make even a small hole in pressure suit, it lost pressure. Volus will probaly end like deepsea fish caught by fisherman - in better case will "only" die on decompression, in worst exploded.

Just wondering, as I haven't read the book. Does the book say you can see their faces, or does it say their faces are uncovered? Because you could make a pressurized suit with a see-through headpiece made of pressurized plactic or glass.

WHAT ACTIVITIES??? He's a leader of a mass terrorist organization in the eyes of the Citadel Council! Do you honestly expect that TIM gives a sh*t what the Council thinks of him or that they might try to "restrict" Cerberus's actions in Council space because he doesn't have their official approval? <_<

He could actually be talking about credibility with the populous, not the council. Many humans agree with cerberus because they are pro-human. If some of their experiments were to come to light, people might not believe them so readily.Image IPB

Okay....so we need to keep arguing about everything in the book because we don't know for sure that the problems we were complaining about that Bioware just said they are going to fix are actually the problems they are going to fix. I'm lost. I guess our list of errors is entirely coincidental to this whole announcement.

They probably don't want to tank public opinion of the ME series on the brink of ME3's release.

Not to mention when a lot of refund requests come in, they take notice over the loss of money.

Also posts can be amended, hateful attitudes not so much. :P

I found this quote.

Hobar's facial expression if any was hidden by the mask which covered most of his face.

Who was trying to tank anyone's opinion of the games or ME3? I was trying to tank the book. I'm very excited for ME3. I wish I had it now.

The quality of this book has no impact on how I feel about the franchise in general. I know I've seen a few people who disagree, but I assume you and I agree on this, right?

Read his post again -  he says "a worsened reputation with the council".

I'm also curious where this whole "many humans agree with Cerberus's ideals" idea popped up, cause I don't recall ever seeing or hearing that in ME2 or the comic series (in fact, the only time I recall seeing that was in Deception.... when Dietz choose to give Cerberus a PR department that employed "flesh-and-blood storytellers" dedicated to telling others about the glories of humanity....)

I just feel like constantly repeating the same thing again and again.

I don't feel like I should have to explain the book to myself externally. The book is supposed to be explaining itself to me. If it doesn't make sense on the page, then it needs to.

Just correcting errors isn't enough to fix this problem.

They should go further and change the story so that it has no
significant effect on canon whatsoever.

Namely,  the final canon version of Dietz's novel shouldn't be killing off any major characters.
You can only revise the novel so much and its never going to be of
sufficient quality to suffice as a satisfactory conclusion for these
character's story arcs.

I agree, maybe have DLC for Gillian and Hendal on the Idenna.

And have Nick there to so my Shepard can kill him for being an idiot.

Maybe because you really repeating it again and again. Don't forget that we discuss about every mistake in last thread, so you only mostly repeating arguments once said.
