In Retribution, Kai Leng slashed an Asari's throat for basically no reason. Now he claims to be racist, but doesn't act like it at all.

And a witness to what? That completely unidentified people took Grayson? Why would that matter? Leng kills he because he thinks she's worthless.

In retribution he's flirting with them , and grinning, and ogling them. Seems like a bit of a departure.

Yes, she is a witness to that. If they left her alive she could clear up that Grayson was kidnapped leaving Aria to trake the people who did it. Also, remeber that kai lang had togo back to omega, if She was still alive, how do you think it whould go down?

Also, thanks for proving my point. He was a rasit because he thought of all asari as W***ES, Not for killing one.

My point is that it's not out of place that she over came it, many people have. At most it should be mention or she at least have anxiety attacks which she has reactions to help her through it like counting, listing, or even focusing her biotic for a while.No more attacking everything, just something she does that calms herself down.
It in itself is not something to take issue with but the fact that it's not referance is the only problem.

It's not the only problem. It's hard to explain. But if Dietz had made some effort to explain it, that would be in improvement. But he didn't. So what are you arguing the point for? Coming up with the alternate explanations doesn't make the book any less terrible.

That's my point. It's bad because it's not refernce or applied to her over all character, not that she over came it.
I agree he did a bad job with it. It just needs element in her character to reference to it but she still can be a functioning human being.

Can you for once tell me what the purpose is in your incredibly repetitive circular arguments? Why do you still want to debate and defend a product that has already been disowned by Bioware? If we all say you are right about one of these points, what will it accomplish? The book will still be garbage, and Bioware will still have apologized and promised to fix it.

Do you just really enjoy arguing?

Agein, He killed her because she was a witness. He would of killed there even if she was human.
I'm not say he's not a racist, It's very clear he is, but racisium was not the motivation for him killing her. It just made killing her more enjoyable for him.

I will try one more time. What is your goal? To prove to others that you are always right? You aren't CORRECTING anyone. All you are doing is expressing your opinion. Others disagreed with you. I think he'd do a great job. I loved his prequel novel to the first TF Movie "Ghosts of Yesterday" I believe it was called.

As far as it being an 'error' how he describes Quarians as wearing rags and scraps, this is how they're described in the booklet that came with ME1 CE. They just wear suits under these apparently.

I've read almost all of his original stuff. But yeah, I've never seen him treat a tie-in property the way Dietz did here. His stuff seems to be fairly well researched.

While we did have a chance to edit it, we had only a couple of days while we were all working crunch to get the game finished. In the event of a discrepency between the print codex and the in-game dialogue and codex, defer to what's said in-game.

How is that that we went for 400+ pages in the last thread with not a single person defending Deception or its flaws, but now that Bioware and Del Ray have officially appologized for the novel being so damn poor, they've started coming out of the wood-work?

It's baffling to me. For some reason, people seem to want to rehash all these arguments. I know you saw the last one too. Sooooooo pointless.

If they think their opinions are so important, I think they should just go email Bioware.

Since he already got paid, I doubt there is much incentive for him to try and do anything to fix it now.
