Remember that asari have the ability to look appealing to all forms of sentient life, no matter what gender race or sexual orientation he or she may be.
Hendel's actions in Deception are about as bizarre as Kai Leng's, who apparently has gotten over being a xenophobic sociopath, and now flirts with asari, and Gillian's notorious recovery from autism.
And I don't think Drew got tired of writing Mass Effect, in one of his most recent twitter posts, he says how ME will always have a special place in his heart, but he is swamped with work for TOR, and he can't very well abandon that project to rewrite Deception.
.... As much as I want him to.
You can grow up to be a normal person even if you do have Autism.

I don't see how Gillian can't be a functioning adult with Autism when other have shown they can. At most it should be mentioned.
While it's true Gillian could learn the skills to communicate in a way that comes across as "normal", I would've thought that from her POV she'll still view the world with an autistic mind.
Granted, I'm basing that not on any real education on the subject but on at least 3 folk with autism:
Taylor Morris
Daniel Tammet

Yes, she is a witness to that. If they left her alive she could clear up that Grayson was kidnapped leaving Aria to trake the people who did it. Also, remeber that kai lang had togo back to omega, if She was still alive, how do you think it whould go down?izmirtheastarach wrote...

Wait, wait wait....He had a reason. She was a witness. Hewas covering his tracks. What madw his a rasist was what he though about Asari....The only word he thought of when he sees one is the synonym of prostitute. HE hate them to a incredible intent.izmirtheastarach wrote...
In Retribution, Kai Leng slashed an Asari's throat for basically no reason. Now he claims to be racist, but doesn't act like it at all.
From Retribution:“However, the alien w***e is expendable. If you get a chance, kill her.”
And a witness to what? That completely unidentified people took Grayson? Why would that matter? Leng kills he because he thinks she's worthless.
In retribution he's flirting with them , and grinning, and ogling them. Seems like a bit of a departure.
Also, thanks for proving my point. He was a rasit because he thought of all asari as W***ES, Not for killing one.

That's my point. It's bad because it's not refernce or applied to her over all character, not that she over came it.izmirtheastarach wrote...

1. I understand that and the link evem covers these different levels of Autism. It's covered in my example.BentOrgy wrote...
Uh, not all autism is the same; there are various levels of severity, and regardless, its not even mentioned at all.
That's the biggest problem most of us have. We're not saying Gillian couldn't "Overcome," her social anxieties, but not that fast, not that completely, and again, its not mentioned once in that entire "Book."
2. We don't know if the majority of her condition was natural or cause by the drugs give to her. Remeber, her last treatment nearly killed her.
3. It is difficult to over come autium. It take alot of dedication from a gurdian of the child for it to happen. Gillian had that with Hendel on the duarian ship as well as a buff of help with the suit they wore.
My point is that it's not out of place that she over came it, many people have. At most it should be mention or she at least have anxiety attacks which she has reactions to help her through it like counting, listing, or even focusing her biotic for a while. No more attacking everything, just something she does that calms herself down.
It in itself is not something to take issue with but the fact that it's not referance is the only problem.
It's not the only problem. It's hard to explain. But if Dietz had made some effort to explain it, that would be in improvement. But he didn't. So what are you arguing the point for? Coming up with the alternate explanations doesn't make the book any less terrible.
I agree he did a bad job with it. It just needs element in her character to reference to it but she still can be a functioning human being.

Can you for once tell me what the purpose is in your incredibly repetitive circular arguments? Why do you still want to debate and defend a product that has already been disowned by Bioware? If we all say you are right about one of these points, what will it accomplish? The book will still be garbage, and Bioware will still have apologized and promised to fix it.
Do you just really enjoy arguing?

I'm not say he's not a racist, It's very clear he is, but racisium was not the motivation for him killing her. It just made killing her more enjoyable for him.

I will try one more time. What is your goal? To prove to others that you are always right? You aren't CORRECTING anyone. All you are doing is expressing your opinion. Others disagreed with you. So you argue and argue and argue. Doesn't make you right. So what is the point? Does it make you feel good?

Considering I don't think Drew wants to keep writing for ME (after all, he left for TOR, and I imagine he might want to stay away after this book), who should replace Dietz?
Because honestly, I don't think you'll find that many great writers that want to write books for a video game, that have a proven track record.
Alan Dean Foster.
I think he'd do a great job. I loved his prequel novel to the first TF Movie "Ghosts of Yesterday" I believe it was called.

Simple, constructive criticism. If they are going to rewrite the book, it helps to point out what's wrong with it the right way.izmirtheastarach wrote...

I've read almost all of his original stuff. But yeah, I've never seen him treat a tie-in property the way Dietz did here. His stuff seems to be fairly well researched.

Right, right. And your random arguments with people who have nothing to do with Bioware are going to help with that.
You are hilariously arrogant. Only you know "the right way", eh?

Reguardless of what you say , I have a point. You can go on and needlessly attack me but it won't change the facts and info I brought up that put this "argument" in my favor.

As far as it being an 'error' how he describes Quarians as wearing rags and scraps, this is how they're described in the booklet that came with ME1 CE. They just wear suits under these apparently.
That booklet was based on non-final materials:
Also keep in mind that the printed Galactic Codex was written by Microsoft based on our internal docs. While we did have a chance to edit it, we had only a couple of days while we were all working crunch to get the game finished. In the event of a discrepency between the print codex and the in-game dialogue and codex, defer to what's said in-game.

No one is attacking you. But you don't get to "win" an argument just because you decide to. Other people disagree with you. You presented no information of any kind. I saw no studies on high-functioning Autism. You just said a bunch of things that amounted to your own opinion. Well congratulations on having an opinion.

It's baffling to me. For some reason, people seem to want to rehash all these arguments. I know you saw the last one too. Sooooooo pointless.
If they think their opinions are so important, I think they should just go email Bioware.
