At this rate we're going to have another 450 page thread on our hands.

Let us just hope that we don't have to Petition for "Deception, Rev. 2" ^^

I bet that in 30-50 years time this original piece of trash book by Dietz is gonna be a highly sought after collector item, rare and hard to get.

Good to know. I will even buy the "fixed" edition :)

Yeah, wonderful news. :) Looking forward to the revised edition.

You may have a point there!

Well good on you Bioware for owning up to and correcting a mistake. That's a win for customer relations.

Bioware, Chris Priestly, and the entire Mass Effect development staff, thank you for posting a response about our concerns with Mass Effect: Deception. As an aspiring developer myself, I can only imagine the hard work you must be doing to insure the release of Mass Effect 3 on March 6th. Like so many on the BSN, I can't wait to play it. I accept your apology, and will most likely purchase the corrected edition of Mass Effect: Deception. I think I speak for everyone concerned that your statement has alleviated a great amount of anxiety from Mass Effect fans.

Which will subsequently be occupied by us trying to figure out how to stop several hundred Reapers from destroying all known life in the galaxy.

In all seriousness, thank you for posting a statement on this and I personally wish you future success.

My bet is that it might be rare and hard to get but still worthless. :P

Hey, c'mon guys and gals. My avatar is heritage material -- some friendly folks and I got Farscape a four-hour wrap-up miniseries finale seven years ago. It's only fitting I continue the trend of bumping into amazing people who can get the job done.

Everyone who did even so much as a single thing to make this happen, pat yourselves on the back big-time.

You should look at that rewrite that Xaero_Dumort is doing Bioware, it is not a bad start on fixing Deception

Guess making it non-canon was really not possible anyway, I assume quite a few of the events happening in the book will appear in ME3 in some form. But it's great to hear a response, those mistakes really were way too many.

It will depend on the person who wants it. You know Star Wars collectors that collect everything yeah it could be the samething for this.

You mean before Youtube people were willing to for items like "Stars Wars Holiday Special?"
Sorry, but that sounds like collectors were even more drugged than Carrie Fisher while shooting that thing.

This book is beyond salvage...but maybe Bioware can salvage their reputation.

+20 paragon points

This. I doubt we'll see many big changes (the auction will still take place on the batarian homeworld, Gillian will still be mostly "normal", the plot will still involve a super defense force of vigilante biotics, etc.), but at least the timeline and the issues with canon should be mostly resolved.

Edit: I'm actually pretty surprised that Bioware and Del Ray are making changes at all. This kind of response isn't common, so props to them for taking this fan feedback seriously.
