Also, I just went back and looked over the error doc. I know it's minor, but the big "WE WON" statement at the beginning seems kind of obnoxious of us. I mean, in our eyes (and to me), we did, but it also brings to mind the scene of President Bush on the aircraft carrier with the "Mission Accomplished" banner. And all, or at least most, of us know how that turned out. So, to someone who can edit it, maybe it should be changed to something like, "We've been acknowledged" ?

Does anyone else see it like that, or am I just reading to much into it?

Lol, maybe reading a bit too much into it.  But you make a good point that until a follow-through is made, this is only a partial victory.  We haven't won, we just haven't lost as bad as we thought we would.

I still consider the fact that they hired Dietz, let him write what he wrote, then published it, promoted it, and sold it to be a big loss for the fans.  ONLY when we all lost our collective **** (no offense, I'm one of them) did they bother to look up from counting their money and think maybe this kind of negative publicity might be a distraction a month away from the release of the game.

Then they made a statement, but I'm still worried about their commitment to quality.

I honestly believe a huge factor in this decision was the fact Penny Arcade started to get involved. They have a known history of really ****ing up companies if they put their mind to it.

I'm already there.  Deception does not exist.  I refuse to acknowledge Hendel, Gilian and Nick being killed off needlessly and Kahlee and Anderson being turned into sociopathic morons.

Most sad on this is that Deception was probably planned like end of Kahlee series, because info about ME3 suggesting really big differences in universe based on our decisions, so continuing in this series after ME3 would be quite difficult.

I'm thinking they will rewrite Deception a little in second edition and start something totally new to bury Dietz's "masterpiece". Probably something like ME Chronicles from First contact war or Rachni wars or another series from Golden age of ME (between ME1 and ME3). Also would be really great two parallel series ME:Renegade and ME:Paragon situated after ME3. Image IPB

I don't see it as that obnoxious, we set out to have Bioware recognize these errors and they did so. Therefore, we won.

Dietz can live in Dietzland on the planet Dietzeti VII in the Dietzequotl Nebula while sipping a Dietza-Cola for all I care, the fact is that BioWare recognized how few people agree with that poster so back here in the real world his story's getting panned left and right.

Theoretically there have to be at least a few people who like the book, sadly.

Ah yes, the statistical bell-currve applies to personal taste as well, unfortunately.  I just wish companies would stop aiming for the middle.

He told Dietz about the reception Deception was getting, much to his chagrin I'm sure.

Lovely! What kind of sense does it make that Aria waited three years to bury her daughter?

I'm working on Chapter 2 of the Audio Book when I have time and it should be done pretty soon.

Just because the characters aged three years doesn't mean that is how much time has actually gone by. This is a Dietz book. It has only been 2-3 months.

My favorite part of this book was Deitz's acknowledgements to "Casey Hudson and Mac Walters for their advice and guidance"

I'm imaging Some office person coming in and saying the following to Hudson and Walters "There is a Mr Deitz here about the ME novel he'd like some of your advice and guidance"
To which Hudson and Walters look up from their screens and both reply "Can it wait a bit I'm in the middle of some calibrations?"
the Office person: "I'll just tell him that he's doing a fine job and it's looking good"
Hudson and Walters reply "I really need to get back to cleaning this engine"

This needs to happen, and then be all over Youtube.

Just got the book yesterday. Already half way through. Will be giving a full opinion when I'm finished.

So far, a lot of head shacking.

I just got my copy in the mail today, and I really want to read it. But because of all these errors I decided not to. Anyone else feel the same?

I've just finished reading the part where Aria and Gillian meet and could have started an awesome battle. Only to scream as I read about Aria, the most badass woman on Omega, running away at the sight of a skinny kid with biotics.

Probably those who don't really know much about the ME Universe, haven't read the previous books, and are just Dietz readers.  Or they never paid attention.
