Just got the book yesterday. Already half way through. Will be giving a full opinion when I'm finished.

So far, a lot of head shacking.

Is that what he really looks like? When did this shot come out?

His appearance in ME3 gives credence to him being the Ascension-Retribution Kai Leng and not the lame ass Deception version.

Leng was not in Ascension. At least as far as I'm aware.

So far, besides the errors, the worst part about this book is that there is no character development. It's just characters going from A to B, with lots of exposition in between. They follow a lead, which leads them to another lead. Nothing more. While Leng does assignments for the Illusive Man in between.

Don't forget all the eating. I've seriously considered the notion that Dietz went crazy with the whole "inject symbolism" concept and picked something at random. He catalogs the eating habits of various characters like there's no tomorrow.

It's what all of the thought provoking science fiction is doing.

Maybe.

Yeah, I know. He keeps telling me how they stopped to get something to eat along the way. He also keeps using "Twosome" or "threesome" repeatedly, instead of "The group" or "The two" or "The trio"or simply "They". Or calling a place like Omega "habitat".

I know, but it had to be said.

Captain Piquant is a boring protagonist.

That most recent parody comic pointed out a great line in the book.

But none of the others dared embrace her, or to offer words of solace, because Aria T’Loak was the Pirate Queen. And to touch her was to die.

To touch her was to die? Oh, man. THIS LADY IS SERIOUS.

That's because it's traditional on Thessia to rain cyanide onto mourners - those who survive the barrage of poison are deadly to the touch for at least eight hours.

Maybe I haven't been reading many books beyond Stephen King, Richard Matheson, and the occasional tie-in book, but I've never read "threesome" used to summarize three people, beyond it's porno meaning. Nor used repeatedly.

It was a dark, stormy night on Thessia. And by dark and stormy I mean cyanide was raining down from the skies above. And so everyone died.

Now that's some film noir for you.
