I love these rage comics, but is it just me, or is the actual story getting even dumber than before?
I think it's making me cringe. 

Nah, it's not just you. They really aren't very funny.

I think they're referring Deception's story in general.

And I for one find them hilarious. Especially Kai Leng. "U got it Illusivebrah."

Well now I'm realizing it, I could not get through the whole book - I just skipped around it and checked for the parts that seemed the most ridiculous (that involves the vase, cereal and toothbrush)...
I wonder how you haven't gone insane yet. Honestly, looking at this book reminds me of this ...

Yeah, it really does. When it was all on the Citedal, I at least wanted to know what happens next. I was interesting in what was going on. Despite the mistakes.

Then we go to Omega, and it all falls apart. Because by that point, you expect things to start developing. But they don't. Characters just continue moving from A to B, and explain to one another what we already know. And whatever does happen more of just delays the ending. Which is Leng killing Gillian.

It's like Deitz didn't have much to tell, and just gave us useless filler.

Here's the part that I don't get. Leng's ex says she's still with Cerberus. Yet she's the one who prevented Gillian from being shot. And was the one who could have killed Gillian in the escape, but doesn't when given the chance.

So... is she a hypocrite? "Oh, I don't mind working for aliens. Oh look, my ex is reminding me of old times. Well, I guess I really am a racist now, and must call them freaks. I guess I'm still with Cerberus."

Something I was just reminded of in the rage comic made me do a double take. Aria finds out that Kai Leng murdered her daughter, and so she pays random dudes to kill him?

That may be the furthest departure from character in this entire book. The Aria we know would personally hunt him down and wring the life out of him. It makes no sense at all.

Dietz doesn't even know that Aria is a powerful biotic. He writes her as if she's solely a political figure that happens to be ruthless from time to time.

Aria is completely butchered it this. Grew up in a bad neighborhood called Hell's Waiting Room on Thessia? Drove around in a Limo? Runs away from Gillian? Needs people to shield her? Uses a Stun Gun?

Not only that, but honestly, she should already know Grayson did not kill her daughter, and that Cerberus played a part. By the simple fact that when he went missing, he came back as a Reaper Husk. She knows Cerberus did all that to him. Put two and two together, and you know she was killed during his capture. The only thing you need to figure out is which agent. Though I'd see her being more mad at Cerberus in general.

Aria also met Kai Leng in Retribution, but that fact is never once mentioned in Deception.

It's just silly.
