Dietz did a similar job on The Flood, I'm surprised that he was able to get another tie-in offer after that.

Because it was one of the originals and Halo series was still growing. At the time it was considered okay but, now its considered mediocre just play Halo.

It's not just his tie-in novels though. I've read Dietz's Sauron Duology (Deathday, Earthrise) and a few of his Legion series books, and they were pretty bad with their own information as well.

For the love of God keep Kai Leng the Cereal Killer! That was just gold... and while it was kind of joke, I really want him to stay the "adrenaline junkie" we know him as.

Also, keep Hendel gay and address Gillian's autism appropriately if it STILL has to remain completely cured.

The cereal thing is pretty much now a inside joke. But I agree they should probably keep it. But not for a dang adrenaline rush. Seriously.

So it took us 11 days. 11 Days, dozens of 1-star reviews, thousands of forum posts, and articles on a dozen major news sites. This was a reasonably successful effort.

I do want to say huge kudos to Bioware for allowing us to run a campaign torpedoing one of their own products from their own official forum. After some early bumps, we were allowed the freedom to express our opinions without anyone trying to shut us down or moderate us.

Congrats to everyone who participated.

But I have to say with all seriousness...despite the fact this should have never happend to begin with. I think it was really big of Bioware to actually say sorry. This pleases me...I accept and you have restored a tiny amount of faith in your integrity to me, because I know your not yet a souless corporation who don't give two s***s about your consumer base. You actually listened....and are taking some steps in an attempt to make amends. While I am sure this books craptastic plot will still be there at least we can properly fit it into the Timeline. I may one day consider purchaseing this revised copy...once I listen to the feedback on it of course.

As much as I appreciate the gesture .It's going to be near impossible to do a revision of this book. If they want to keep the plot points basically the same there is going to have to be tons of additional work to give the characters proper motivation. And there is really no way to solve the Gillian issue that doesn't seem like a cop-out. Everything else can be relatively simply changed but that's gonna be a toughie. 

Honestly Bioware you'd be better off delcaring this whole thing non-canon.

Blizzard would've hired Christie Golden to make another book to explain all the inconsistencies, Bungie wouldn't have bothered to comment, BioWare goes back to the editor table to make right what should never have been wrong.

And people wonder why I like BioWare as a company =)

It was a real stupid thing to do in that situation. Kai Leng is supposed to give as a lot of headaches in ME3, yet it seems he´s a stupid augmented thug at best.

And are they going to change the plot? Even without continuity mistakes, it doesn´t seem to have much point beyond ending the book characters in a really bad way.

It had a plot in the same way Star Wars Episode 3 had one. Everyone knew something was going on, but the jumping off points from one thing to the next were simply non-existent.
