Oh, that's true, didn't recall that at all. I was thinking that they met just on Grissom academy.
Damn, this just isn't the same without Didy.

I was afraid that the movement against the ME3 endings would go the way of this. I mean, we were so passionate and the thread continued to grow and grow. We ended up getting a small placating message from Bioware that they're taking care of things and the spark just died.

I think the "retake" movement is well beyond the ability to spin it like this debacle was spinned into oblivion.

My guess is that majority of people who participated are just happy to hear about 2nd. edition, because that gave possibility to drop Deception from canon.
I think we achieved what realistically was possible and for a big plus I had a great time, I felt stupid not recognising some nick names when I started reading and posting in this topic again.

Motivation behind Retake ME3 movement is far more serious I think and for me it really looks like there are lot of people who are not, some never actually, active in forums. I like to think that Deception managed to ****** off hard core fans that never are a huge number of fan base but ME3 ending managed to ****** off the otherwise silent majority.

Well, I simply think, that right now BW has another and bigger problems then new Deception. We can cry here for our book, but our voices will be lost in hurricane of ME3 (in which I'm not participating). We can only wait and bring our problem back to light later in calmer times, right now it's simply useless.

I have never been more ashamed to be a fan of this game thanks to a bunch of entitled cry babys! The ending was fine and certainly much better than the likes of lost or battlestar what is the big deal.

Fortunately I have never been more proud to be a gamer. We raised over 80,000$ in two weeks for children. Got our voices heard and most IMPORTANTLY EXERCISED OUR CUSTOMERS RIGHTS. I am glad at what the community has done.

lol, wtf is this? Didn't even know that they released a book about ME3. And the quality of it... It seems that Bioware are going for a suicide run on this series. They actively kill any good lore they created in the previous games.

Whats the purpose of this? Why massacre the ME universe? Is it for fast $$$?

There is simply no rationale behind these actions. It must be a sabotage or the quality of the team developing ME simply has been severely crippled by drop outs or something.

Drew Karpyshyn's departure probably had a lot to do with it. IMO. I can't prove that.

Nope. And going by the shape of ME3, it accepts Deception the way it was released, too. And you know what? Nobody's complaining not because we don't care about Deception anymore, but because what they did to us with ME3 was far worse!

Still holding out that the book will get fixed, though.

I did not read Deception, I read previous books. Now I know why ME3 has such “ending”: they never had much care for Lore, so why they would care for how previous games were made, consistency etc?

Hope shines eternal. However given the fact that its been a month plus with zero feedback, Id call that a vain hope.

Disgusting creeps, not worshipping at the alter of artistic integrity and leaving crap as it lay. Because, you know...art.

Well, I give BioWare the benefit of the doubt on this matter since reviewing a book on it's entirety is a long and complex work.

And I think they'll only release a new edition when the original runs out of copies (probably there isn't many books).

Although there are a few things I disagree with you about in the google doc... Aka the citadel not being star shaped and the comment about the Turian tear(which directly after it is mentioned in the book clearly says that it is not know to exist...) I still agree with about 99% of your findings. So glad you guys pulled this off and are getting the novel patched. I absolutely loved Drew's first three books and when I read Dietz's... well, it made absolutely no sense and contradicted itself. The writing wasn't bad but it seemed like he knew nothing about the ME universe or at most, very little.

I found a few contradictions in me3 itself as well. As far as lore goes and events which took place. I really hope this makes bioware infinitely proof read in the future before releasing content or at least just give us Drew back lol

I'm so grateful for this and I would buy the book and read it again just to show how proud I am :) thanks guys!

I pick up all the books when they come out, this was just... painfully atrocious. I don't know how anyone could even consider taking Kai Leng seriously in ME3 after reading this book. Lots of raging at the ending, as well as the constant flood of inconsistency and just awful writing.

Of course, by releasing a second edition, those of us that suffered through the first edition would have to buy a second to see if its better. They should do an amnesty program, where if you send in your copy of the first edition, or provide proof of purchase, you get a free copy of the re-release.
