Plus another problem - who will create Deception 2? Karpyshyn has another job. Second chance for Dietz is out of the question. And do you think that some better freelancer will risk involving in ME universe with all this hate around now? Another reason for BW to wait until hatestorm little passed.
And last question - do you think people in BW are in mood to do something for fans right now? Yes, they made mistakes in ME3. Yes, they knew it. But this hatestorm reached really absurd level, where many people kicking to BW not only because their disagreement with ME3, but only because everyone around do it and because it's fun. It remainds me old roman politician Cato Censor, who was ending every speech with sentence „Ceterum (autem) censeo Carthaginem esse delendam. (Furthermore I think Carthage must be destroyed)[i]" , not because Carthago was some threat or there were another reasonable reason, but just because he didn't like them. Simply said every man has his personal limit of accepting critique, rage and hate, until he reached level "F*ck you too." And so long as fans will keep BW on that level, there will be minimal will to do something with Deception.
BTW, I also was dissapoited with some thing in ME3, but like I said at the beggining of this post, I just looking realistic on this case, not only emotively.

Doing something for fans?
Since when is fixing an obviously broken product that never should have been released in the first place "doing something for fans" ?
Boggles the mind....
EA rushing things (including their merchandise, which the books falls under) seems to be the common thread in all of these failures. So when is EA going to learn from their mistakes and actually let artists be artists and get the time they need to do a proper job?

Well, honestly, do you know any other case where someone promise new book (film etc.) only because fans rejected it? Standard procedure is ignore this product in future, never release it again and scratch it out of cannon.
Even in this case when we pushed them to do it, is such decision quite unique and it was made for fans.

I did not read Deception, I read previous books. Now I know why ME3 has such “ending”: they never had much care for Lore, so why they would care for how previous games were made, consistency etc?
Well, Mac and Casey "provided guidance" for Dietz, and also the two of them exclusively wrote the ending.
I believe we can see the result quite well, of both.

(I'm looking at YOU Tali photoshop pic. Ugh!)
About Tali.
Question number one: how the hell she is able to fit that broad mug of hers into such narrow helmet?
Question number two: how the hell she wears all that heap of hairs (and fits them into same helmet)? Yes, I know, qurians are not humans, so I don't know whether they are sweating or not and little is known on their suits' "climate control", but back in army we wore our NBC/ABC suits, fully sealed. Although I had my head shaved clean a-la Pierluigi Collina it still was a disaster.

Jeff Grubb? I like his writing and literally LMAO several times at, say, Liberty Crusade.

Knowing is good. Taking them on themselves is better. Correcting them is priceless. Yeah, yeah, mastercard for the rest.

Heh, judging by Warhammer 40K literature they got natural mess with canons there, up to total and absolute contradiction, IIRC.

Be realistic, guys, right now has Deception too low importance for BW. Until pressure around ME3 depressed, there won't be any progress in this case simply because no one has time on this.

One little problem - they never said WHEN they release new version. They can release it in November and they'll still keep their word. I just wrote why they don't release it right now.

-Doesnt matter. The didnt keep us in the loop. For all we know its never comming. Just like with some DA2 issues and the Bazaar bit for international clients that never showed up.
So the only problem here is credibility. Bioware has none.
