Not if it contradicts continuity of the established work, as this one does. Also, this was written by Dietz, not Karpyshyn, whose lack of experience in the established Mass Effect universe was made clear with this effort. See here and weep.

No I agree. But many people want changes to ME3 over similar reasons. I think the major problem right now is that fans haven't compiled a list of similar quality. to present and liken it better to how fans reacted to Deception.

good thing I haven't bought it yet. The rest of the books are good? I got the first 2 but didn't get into them yet.

All the books written by Drew Karpshyn are pretty good.

This is a very long thread - any news on when the fourth book will be re-released?

 **** THIS JUST IN ****
If anyone's interested in the Audio Book, I've just been informed by Tantor Audio that they will no longer be releasing their audio book based on the original publication of Mass Effect: Deception.

Instead, they will wait on the next edition before producing one.

Pub date changed from "June 2012" to "Coming Soon".

THANK YOU Tantor Audio!

How funny would it be if they had Deception DLC for Mass Effect 3? By that, I mean you see Happy Bowls on the Citadel, Turian Ricksaws, Gyrocycles, Toothbrush Sword for Shepard, a Cereal Store on the Citadel (with Shepard offering an endorsement like with the other stores in ME2), and a certain Vase in Shepard's cabin? Oh man, lol. Ha ha ha. It would be too much.

-Well... Talked to a local Fantasy lit shop here in Copenhagen. They had heard of the debacle, but still sold Deception "as is" despite it, they had heard nothing from either Del Rey or Bioware about any revisions being on the drawing board and were still able to take orders home from Del Rey.

So... what does this tell you?

Maybe not by accident. Maybe someone has conscience.

That would be an improvement, unfortunately I don't believe that to be the case.

That my prediction before was correct and that stating there would be a change was really just a deflection tactic.

This is exactly what I was just about to say.
If they can change this, why not the ME3 ending?

A local publisher planned to publish Deception a few days after the US release date. However the literature agency stopped them because of the debate. They are waiting to the updated version - but no news about it. They translated the original version at november-december.

I think Bioware / Del-Rey just wants to "forget" this whole mess. I suppose they though the fans eventually forget this book and the promise of the updated version.

Plus...

Who cares anymore? The ME3 ending issue is much more important - and Bioware doen't want to change this crappy ending.

So is Del Ray and BioWare going to remake Mass Effect: Deception? I got all the other books and I wonder if Bioware is going to enforce this book to be written correctly.
