It's going to be near impossible to do a revision of this book. If they want to keep the plot points basically the same there is going to have to be tons of additional work to give the characters proper motivation.

And there is really no way to solve the Gillian issue that doesn't seem like a cop-out. Everything else can be relatively simply changed but that's gonna be a toughie.

Plot? What plot? It had a plot?

It looks like this is honestly the best we're going to get. I can take a crappy book in the series with a bad and pointless plot (it's not like other series haven't suffered this), but I won't tolerate the terrible number of lore and character errors that do a complete disservice to the franchise as a whole. At least that will be addressed.

Nerd rage is funny. I bought the book just so I could see it for myself. Although I did notice something funny in the preview I read. A slaver ship attacking a Quarian cruiser and disabling it? That slaver ship must be a dreadnought to be able to attack the second largest capitol ship type in Mass Effect.

By fixing mistakes, are they going to jump the original author and re-write the whole book?

Yep. It's an old Batarian ship somehow fitted with a Tantalus drive core.

Wasn´t that when the Quarians had almost an hour warning? Unless FTL is disabled, you can jump and the other can´t track you down.

While it's great this is happening, it does make me wonder how it got the greenlight in the first place still.

But still, we won!

Like I said, when the bsn is united, ( almost impossible ) there is definitely something wrong.

Really, I am glad, i want to read this book, I just can't with so many mistakes. :)

Thanks Bioware.

So how will I patch my book? Will Bioware send me like small notes that I can glue on it? ;)

Anyone who can grab a copy of Deception as is should get it now. It'll now become a Collectors item.

Thank you, Mr. Priestly. We know how hard everyone works at BW and appreciate it. I know if it were my work that was getting trashed like that I'd fly into a krogan blood haze.

Insert a USB drive with downloaded patch into the side of your book.

On another note, someone open a thread when the revision is out saying if the changes are significant enough to warrant a purchase.

Good on Bioware for doing more than just shuffling the book into oblivion which would have been easier but less satisfying.

He's using Star Trek logic here which, as much as I love Star Trek, simply doesn't belong in the ME universe.

Engage.

Victory.
Thank you for your apology, Bioware, I know it must be hard. I just wish some extended explanation will be publiced, how this book sneak into print in such shape, but this apology still warmed my fan heart.

I recall when they announced changes that would be made in the Halo novels that were never made. I don't expect much here, either.

I'm not really sure the real value has changed so far. But don't tell anyone then about the announcment if you want to fool people that your buying a worthless book.

Del Ray still has to get rid of the surplus from the original then when the supply goes down then maybe the real value will go up . Just my theory

I'm just saying, Deception as is is being discontinued. Meaning it'll become a rare item.

Yeah, the continuity errors are glaring. One would think that somebody would have checked that, but apparently not. Thank you Mr. Priestly and BioWare for addressing this issue :-). When it is fixed, I will purchase it.
