In my country a book publisher declares that a "fixed edition" of this book will be released on September 25. www.tuan.hu/index.php

I don't see any offical news about a "fixed edition" on Bioware sites. Is it fake or not?

Hmm, I'm translator of this series in my country and I have no info about it. Maybe it should be some guess or preliminary date?

Perhaps someone at Bioware should comment? No? Anything?

Why so cereal?

No seriously, I'm glad they're correcting that horribly inaccurate book. Don't know if I'd purchase the revised version though.

Problem is, the fanbase hasn't been given any real updates in months and this silence has created even more fan and customer loyalty problems. Bioware REALLY should find something to say on this.

Awww, you think Bioware were telling the truth when they said they were fixing it. That's cute - naive, but cute.

@ Captain_Obvious_au

Well, it may have been naive but then again I've lived my life by the motto, "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst." I had a feeling in my gut that Bioware would neglect the ME:Deception problems, but I hoped they would actually learn from their mistakes.

That´s great to read,

I for once lived my live by the motto: "Never tie your shoe-laces to a train while running with burning forks."

Ha ha. Funny. Anyways, lets have just a small pinch of optimism and wait and see if Bioware will stop with the silent treatment and say something beyond, "we have no new information at this time." One of the most retarded non-answers one could use on a fanbase.

I am relived to hear my “Wait...What??” moments while reading the fourth book where accurate. That being said I did enjoy the first three books and how details read in them crossed over into the actual game interaction.

I haven't read the book, but looking at the horrible user reviews on Amazon I'm guessing Bioware/EA may just write it off as a total loss.

No, it will be released tomorrow. I still don't understand how they got the "fixed edition". It doesn't seem logical to me that a European publisher gets it first...

Or maybe they fixed it ourselves? I mean some lore mistakes which can be fixed without changing story - Hendel denying visit of Omega, that problem with quarians names or such?

Hell, any fan well versed in the lore and characters of the Mass Effect series could make the necessary corrections in like a month, tops!

Honestly, no.

Some of lore mistakes are too much rooted in main storyline that simple correction is impossible (f.e. whole Dietz theory about "biotics levels" or Gillian autism). Some minor corrections are possible (like correct using of Quarians names), but it is about 1/2 of them. Rest of them would demand rewritting of whole passages of book.

Not to mention basic math mistakes. Nick and Gillian can't be 18 years old 3 years after they were 12 years old.

I thought I was paranoid while reading the book and coming across that issue. At least I wasn't paranoid after making sure it was just an extreme math error.

I'd like to point out that at least two of the hated discrepancies aren't discrepancies at all.

1. How Deitz referred to the Citadel as being "star shaped"

2. How Deitz referred to the Asari as being "asexual"

Truth is, Drew Karpyshyn did the exact same thing in Mass Effect: Revelation. He says in the novel, that from a distance, the Citadel appears to look like a five pointed star. And calls the Asari asexual, Which is true, because they don't reproduce sexually. :P

In a sense, you are right because the Asari just use their partners DNA to randomize the genetic information. However, there are a great number of other problems and it really irks a lot of people that Bioware would be so careless. Myself included.

I'm somewhat surprised that there hasn't been a fan-corrected version done yet. Or at least I haven't seen one if there is.

I think, that there are a lot dedicated fans out there who could write an entire fourth book without violating the lore as much as Deception and the third game did together.
