You were the one who started that discussion, weren't you?

I didn't mean to, but yeah.

EternalAmbiguity wrote...
Yeah, I stayed out of it too. I have strong views on politics in some ways, and often controversal views.

That's quite suprising.

It's actually kind of funny how the BSN will tolerate each other's political views, but will flame each other over paragon/renegade, who's the best LI, or breathing masks.

I honestly always thought that how often you use (depend) on certain characters for missions should affect the story somehow. Like, if you didn't use Tali much, she'd be more prone to being depressed or something. Since you can TELL she wants some Commander Shepard.

It's amusing how civil BSN can be once it drifts off topic.

Going off-topic significantly reduces the likelihood of extreme fanwangsting.

And yet, mods will ban users and lock topics for not...

WAIT.  OH MY GOD.

You guys.  You guys.  The mods want us to be angry and miserable all the time!

IT'S A CONSPIRACY!

That's why they permabanned GMagnum. And DNI. And temp-banned countless others.

:(

Basically, I think Obama's a POS for my country.

But it's 4:30 and I'm trying to go to bed, so perhaps we can exchange political views another time.

They permabanned GMagnum? Why? What rules did his style of language violate?

And when did I miss a politics topic?

They banned GMag for asking what Miranda's sweat tasted like and for a comment about bench-pressing with his nipples.

As for the politics thread, that was around December, I think.

Worst possible outcome?  Squadmate death by Friendly Fire... boy would that suck.

Shepard: "Liara!!"

Liara: "Ooph... Shepard... you... you shot me-"

Shepard: "I told you to duck! Stay with me! Liara!! LIARA!"

Liara: "My.. .ears... Shepard...."

Shepard: "LIAAAAARRRRRAAAAA!!!!!"

//Liara dies

Shepard: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

I like Liara but that would be awesome.

Nonsense. That man was a modern Shakespeare. Bioware should have hired him to do their writing.

What characteristics would the worst possible story outcome have?

I mean, what dark places would the story need to go to cause you to sit back and ask yourself if you want to continue the journey?

You did read the leaked script, right? :?

Didn't Bioware confirm that there will be NO Reapers-win scenario in the game anymore?
My impression is, that we will be railroaded to a certain "endgame" scenario (like the suicide mission), where you have to win, or else you have to restart the game.

I don't think that the game can go so "wrong" for you, that you may ask yourself if you want to continue or not.

What would be the point?

It won't make you smarter, nor it would make the story better written.

Allright go on prophezising the doom of Gaming, Bioware and the Mass Effect series on base of one little detail (Cerberus is evil, yes we get it, you don't like that, boohooo). It doesn't work (you seem to be on a mission to ruin it for other people) so you might just stop it, but hey...

I hope it doesn't even though that is a good closer. I want to see Naruto vs Madara close out the series tbh.

Well, "Madara" in quotations, since the manga seems to be hinting at other things.

Still, I think that would be a fun fight, but even as the ultimate villain, Madara doesn't have quite the same history with Naruto as he does with Sasuke. Where the Pain fight was essentially a conflict of morals, I'm not certain how emotionally engaging a battle with Madara would be.

Ruining it for other people? By criticizing it? Oh, how touchy you are. God forbid my criticism maybe motivates some poeple to look at the game with a bit more critical eye/scrutiny! TEH HORRO! TEH INHUMANITY!!!!

You can go on fighting those illusionary windmils. Errecting stupid strawmen doesn't help your credibiltiy either.
I don't base my thoughts on one little detail. I base it on a tons and tons of little details, and the specifics of their execution.
Now, if you're done trying to cloud the issue, maybe this thread can be salvaged somewhat...

What you where potenitally doing in this very thread is this: Someone asked what would make them stop playing the game (btw he meant not by being badly done, but by being dark and gritty), and you answered in a negative, "look-for-yourselves"-manner that could actually make people to read the leaks.
Which is a totally douchy thing to do. Reading a leak, no matter if you like or don't like what you read, is always ruining part of the fun.
So while you search for people who agree with your views, which I understand, suggesting other people read the leak will most likely only lead to more people unnecessarily getting spoilered, which is unfair.
Because, not knowing where you come from ("Leave Cerberus alone!" *cry*), people might actually think there is something reeeaaally off. And I do not talk about the odd plothole, but something that ruins the entire franchise.
Which is total bollocks. People who liked ME 1 and 2 will 99% like 3, simlar strength, similar weaknesses, similar product.

Spare me the seremon, drone-boy.

I can't force anyone to read the leaks - if they do and it spoils the game, it's THEIR fault.
Neither am I telling/convincing people to read them - I speciffy them as one of the sources of my dissapointment.

Your made-up statistics don't intererest me at all, and they have no bearing whatsoever on anything. Expect you trying to build up some fake credibility.

I still want to know how a everyone dies ME 2 play through translate... other than when you import the game in the ME 3 you get a Critical Mission Failure screen when the game starts.

I doubt that would happen but it would be funny.

No you can't force. You did, however, suggest it, by vaguely foreshadowing something reaaaaly bad is happening to the story. For what reason? Please explain.

Edit: Decided to clarify this right now.
There is a huge difference between saying:

1. I read the leaks, and I didn't like lots of it (which would be OK, noone can deny you your own oppinion).

and

2. I read the leaks, and trust me, you ain't gonna like this (like you pretty much did).

Nothing could probably really go wrong for me as long as bioware took a hint from DA2 and the choices are still actually choices instead of pointless decisions that carry no weight and are only meant to give the illusion it is still a choice based storyline.

As long as they don't do anything like that, I will be pleased as punch about any outcomes. Because I get to see how all those choices effect the very end.
