I admit I fully expect casualties this time round seeing as how its a war I just wish people would stop demanding it

Well just ignore "demand"; they are too late to demand anything now anyway, but I think some of us are going to get a right good kicking in the arse in ME3, ME2 was great for preparing, but I'm personally hoping that no matter how well prepared I am, it's not going to be enough, I seriously want that desperate feeling, and seeing the shuttle with the child on board get destroyed was a good start, I don't mean it's good that the child was killed, it was a moment when Shepard could do nothing about it, I hope there is lot more like that in ME3.

I felt more desperate in the Jurassic Park game for surviving then I did in either Mass Effect.  Even Dragon Age.

What characteristics would the worst possible story outcome have?

Import a Renegade
Don't romance anyone
Save the VS who is the same gender as your Shepard
Let people die on the Suicide Mission

I mean, what dark places would the story need to go to cause you to sit back and ask yourself if you want to continue the journey?

Oohhhh... well, it would need to be badly written, filled with retcons, pander to the lowest common denominator, be more of a Hollywood action movie than science fiction, and outright ignore established lore and events. So pretty much it would need to be exactly what it is.

The one in which no good points where made, as is custom by Cheez and her mindless followers?

In the end, it all came down to "I couldn't stand losing my virtual space waifu/husbando, please don't have them die.".

If you define "good points" as "points I agree with", then of course the people you disagree with will never have "good points".

Silly Billy.

Saph's just mad because his headcanon was wrong and TIM's not a romance option.

Says you.

You won't be laughing when I ride off into the sunset in a reaper ship, two nice comfy arm chairs, and TIM and Shepard sitting back comfortably drinking and smoking.

TIM: "Mission Accomplished"
Shepard: "Never remind me of those stupid screens again, if you want this partnership to continue"
TIM: "Fair enough"

Translation:  They did not cater the game to Saphra's every little whim and his overblown sense of entitlement.  Since he will not get the opportunity to make love to TIM he is going throw a temper tantrum and take his ball and go home.

It's Xen Saphra wants, not TIM.

Seboist is the one who always talks about romancing TIM.

  • Renegades are not horrible playthroughs, its just the Paradurp community is going to get more rewards for being nice then honest or realistic.
  • It's a matter of preference, it shouldn't impact the story.  It's a sci-fi shooter with RPG qualities and a lot of talking, not a dating sim.
  • What does that have to do with anything?  Seriously, I'm curious why you would try to say that.
  • Thats either poor decision making, stupidity, or people spicing up their outcomes or removing people they don't like.  One I'm about to do because of the popularity contest for characters and how I'm beginning to hate the community more than I normally do.
You realize that the last major bunch of Sci-fi movies have been just as bad as Hollywood, if anything worse?

Personal standards are subjective and not indictive of actual quality but of preferential quality.

Objective standards are basically just the personal standards agreed upon by the largest audience. Of which you appear to be the minority.

First of, Incinerator, I hope somebody breaks your arms and legs for using bullets. Do you have any idea how much they **** up the formatting if I try to quote you so I can respond more easily?

Renegade is a bad playthrough, dude. I know this for a fact. You know how I know? The files in the leak OUTRIGHT SAY SO. A Renegade import is one of the conditions for a "failure" playthrough along with the other characteristics I mentioned.

I'm just pointing out a fact here. If you disagree or if you don't like it then don't argue with me, argue with Bioware.

Regarding Hollywood sci-fi movies, yeah, no ****. That's what I'm talking about. Hollywood sucks and the more Mass Effect resembles Hollywood the more it sucks. Mass Effect needs to go back to its Alien/Aliens/Blade Runner/andsoforth roots.

Going for the CoD crowd and blatant sex appeal is a horrible thing for Mass Effect.

Low standards means I get to have a lot more fun than everyone else.

No, you don't.

Bioware sneezes and you are right there to lick up the snot.

That's not something I aspire to.

Saphra's angry nerd-rage amuses me.

Can't wait to see what it gets like in March.

Thanks for the spoiler warning, I was wondering who else Kotoreffect3 was talking about.

Yes, I did it so you couldn't quote me, because I wanted to organize my thoughts without spending an extra minute to disect the quote I did for you.

I think the worst thing that could happen is they ask you to pick your very best most trusted party members then they get left behind and Joker dies trying tto save them. What ever horrible tragic scenes they put into it whether it be what I just said or Joker's pet turtle dying,It must have awsome sad music with the right music I'd get choked up over the lizard.

No problem, buddy. What are friends for?

I have to admit, ME3 is a lot worse than I ever thought it would be. The slant is outright comical at times.

Oh, no. I'm just being objective. I want neither a perfect ending nor an absolute massacre. I settle somewhere in the middle, with deaths being directly related to decisions. Deaths are unavaliable, but changable, depending on your actions.

The contextual tone he takes on when telling people their opinions are crap, just happens to seriously bother me.

The ironic thing here is that those were pretty big Hollywood hits back in the day.  Aliens even did the gun-toting hoo-rah marine thing.

Well, okay, Blade Runner is more of a cult classic, but whatever.
