Mass effect needs to be more like Avatar with clear cut black/white sides, with bad guys who does bad things for bad reasons.

-holds back justifying the humans actions-

Oh admit Avatar was horribly one sided in favor of the natives, with the PMC potrayed as mustache twirling bad guys no matter how reasonable their goal was.

Depends on who you consider the bad guy, my take is the corporation was the bad guy and the aliens were a species trying to survive like the rest of us, and we do still kill to survive.

That's why I didn't see the film. All the buzz was that the story was incredibly shallow and the film's message was patronizing and hypocritical. Liberal propaganda at its finest.

When I played Xenosaga they kept telling me for 2 1/2 games that the point of everything was to get back home to Earth. Then half way through game 3 they tell you that's just motivation to get the characters to do stuff. The real point of everything is something else. That really pissed me off. If ME3 did something like that I'd be so pissed.

Also, time travel. Shep better not go back in time to stop the Reapers from ever being created or something like that.

You are the one who said you have no standards and get to have more fun. I was just commenting on the likely consequences of that lifestyle.

The kind of low standards I'm talking about usually involve pop tarts and Star Trek reruns.  The fun involves being amused by really stupid stuff, like making a giraffe out of paperclips or something.  In other words, it doesn't take much to entertain me, and I don't mind immature humor, really cheap dinners, and wearing my pajamas to class.

Unfortunately, my standards are a little too high in other areas.  Which sort of explains the xenophilia and why I can't get a date.  And why I keep taking classes meant to punish and humble me.  And why I never get drunk--all the liquor I wouldn't mind drinking a lot of is too damn expensive.

Actually, that's not unrealistic. It's hyper-realism. Humans are emotional creatures and are more likely to side with their emotions than they are with the "logical" response to a situation.

Well of course.

The humans goals were justifiable it's just that the way they went about it was pants-on-head-retarded. Oh, and by pants-on-head-retarded I don't mean 'immoral' or anything like that, I mean their actual tactics were just plain stupid.

"Ok men, we'll split into two teams. You guys fly our ships slow and low in an area where we lose the advantages of our sensors and superior firepower. Whilst that's happening we'll drop our infantry team off and have them trek through thick jungle several kilometers, despite the fact that we'll be outnumbered. Yup that's a brilliant plan, lets move!"

I wish they would just add a carebear option at the beginning of the game for people who hate character deaths, so the rest of us can see a story with some weight and realism pertaining to such a threat..

If the easily avoidable squad mate death mechanic makes it back into this from ME2 I'll be disappointed as the entire game felt like filler because of it.

Course, with as badly as Bioware does character death (Virmire survivor, anyone in DA1 or 2, any squad mate in ME2) I'm not sure I'd care for any of it in ME3 on second thought.. Character death in Bioware games holds about as much depth as ****** on a sidewalk.

With all that said though, I'm still looking forward to the game, as 90% of the drivel out there this year will be worse than ME3, Though I have a feeling that Bioshock Infinite will blow this away in every way for me, so really this will just get me through the months until it's release..

If Saphra did not say anything, you guys would have nothng to respond too, oh look you didn't, at least not intelligently.

Seriously, I don't agree with Saphra 99% of the time, but I do try to be a little more adult about it.

Saphra doesn't deserve an intelligent response.  I have met brick walls more reasonable than him.

Well this has went off-topic.

On-topic I would say if Legion, Joker or Wrex died along with Earth being completely destroyed.

Of course I've seen it, and I found it to be an overhyped rendition of the whole native american thing.

I attempted to connect the dots based on the context. You seemed to imply that they undue'ing presented the natives as "in the right", when the humans actions were justifiable and logical (aka. being realistic).

I was simply using that parallel to identify that logical very rarely factors into human thought processes when determining "who is in the right", which makes it hyper-realism for taking into account natural human reaction to cold-calculated decisions.

If my assumptions on where you were heading were wrong, then sorry? I guess.

As far as BSN fights go, this one isn't so bad. It's entertaining rather than annoying.
