I just encountered this - although mine wasnt a new pc, just a reinstallation of Win7. Installed it earlier in the week and tried to run it today, it made me install Air, then it came up with an activation window where I had to log in, even thought this was running it from the Origin software which I was already logged into - got a Sorry We have encountered a problem error.
Searched forums, found several suggestions, followed them and wished I hadnt - basically just uninstall both ME2 AND Origin, then reinstall. Did that, rebooted, then reinstalled Origin, logged in and then received a message advising I have no games on that account whereas I have about 10 games that normally show up under My Games section.
After another uninstall, its not even allowing me to log into Origin, just keeps crashing.
However, having a search around the web, appears there are bucket loads of problems with the EA/Origin servers - Battlefield3 players are going mental as the servers went down, update went in, that requires them to validate the game everytime they log in AND everytime they try to join a game, and it takes 4/5 attempts to do that each time. Inbetween that its crashing and servers keep going down.
All I can imagine is that we're catching part of that issue, especially as our initial problem was that we were unable to activate ME2 even tho we were logged into Origin.
