O yes! Another opposite thread. What are some movies that are rated good by critics yet you don't enjoy or find them good? I'm still thinking of some of mine and will update OP but what are yours? If a thread like this then link me

-Avatar (Stated in review. WATCH IT.)
-Inception (Just didn't care for it)

Avatar. Plagiarized ecomentalist garbage.

Transformers. Terrible plot.

Avatar. The effects are the best. Ever. I admit it, but the plot is Dances with wolves, Pocahontas, every western ever written. Putting it on another planet doesn't make it any less a rip off. Oh, and I'm not a huge fan of 3D, don't hate it, but still :\\

Super Bad. idk why people think that movie is at all funny.

And a bunch more I can't remember right now.

Scarface. I never really "got" the hype behind that movie. I found it to be too slow and over-the-top for my tastes.

I'll probably get slapped for this, but: 2001 a Space Odyssey.

The Lord of The Rings. Never been a fan of the books and/or movies. Really they bore the crap outta me, I'm sure I slept through all three of the movies.

TBH I like the part with HAL but all the other parts I really didn't enjoy to much. I thought it was OK :alien:

Depends on how the word "good" is defined...
The money a film made? How many Oscars he got??

Well, a very popular film, a money maker so to say, I obviously dislike is or are the Twilight movies. On top of that, I don't like Watchman, The Green Lantern and The Green Hornet.

Movies that got many Oscars I never had the urge to watch are for example True Grid, Social Network (ewww) and The Fighter.

I mainly define it for movies as critics mostly rating it good and having a good rotten tomatoes rating.

I'm not a fan of Citizen Kane. I watched it in Film Studies and found it boring. And also Star Wars i've never really liked. To me it;s just a ripoff of Flash Gordon

Most 'popular' movies kinda suck a little bit. I do other things for entertainment now.

Inception was terrible

so was Bridesmaids, can't see why folks liked it so much.

I'm also never seeing a JJ Abrams movie again (didn't like the Trek reboot or Super 8)

It was a movie way ahead of it's time I think. It's an interesting watch. I'm glad I did but I probably won't again for a long time.

Kubrick was really starting to test my patience with how long and slow some scenes moved.

Casablanca - never interested me, and I like most of the cast.

Raging Bull - way overrated, and the film version I watched showed film equipment in full view.

Schindler's List - no exagerated sterotypes here....

The English Patient - stalel as yesterday's crumpets.

The Excorcist - like the music, but loathe the tale.

Recent ones I've seen

Rise of the Planet of the Apes- This movie had plot holes and I just didn't find it that amazing after people said it was one of the best movies of the year.

Hanna- Again, people praised this movie and I went in expecting a lot. I didn't find it that great though. Also had plot holes and what I found to be an incredibly terrible and lazy ending.

Another one i just thought of. The Lovely Bones. Excellent book but the movie was self indulgent nonsense that was more interested in how many flashy 3D effects it could have than telling a good story. Peter Jackson in general i find very overrated simply because he directed LOTR but pretty much all his other movies are terrible.

And to a lesser extent i'm not a fan of E.T. I actually find the movie very boring and apart from the few heart wrenching scenes it's actually a dull and slow movie.

How do we help to improve ethnic relations through art? Why, by reinforcing racial stereotypes of course! Have the only middle-eastern man go on a shooting spree, have every asian a miserly dolt obsessed with getting money by any means necessary, the only white people as adulterers, ignorant rich snobs or pervs (save one, WHO KILLS SOMEONE), and the only black man in the movie who ISN'T breaking the law, bitter, and is successful is portrayed as out of touch.

Oh how I hate this movie.
