That save will basically only be needed when they add expansions and DLC so you can continue with that character.

My story ended with my character sleeping with morrigan and as a result; lived. After speaking with other players it was explained to me that the only way they reached the Epilogue save was by dieing in the end and not sleeping with morrigan, id like some Bioware attention on this issue if possible! Or at least more people who are 100% familar with issue or can provide some sort of assitance.

And what if i have deleted the epilogue save? I usualy clean up all the autosaves when i´m done to not end up with x number of useless save games. Looks like i deleted the epilogue save on my current two chars and only keept my final saves when i´m done with the game.
Does that mean i can´t access any future DLC with them? They have to find a damn way around this, i´m sure i´m not the only one with this problem. (for pc too..wrong platform forum oops)
No.. you'll still be able to access any DLC or expansion from where ever you are within the game.. The auto save is only there so you can go back to camp after you've finished the game so you can start an expansion from that point. Of course if you deleted that and your final save is from the coronation or from before the final battle you might have to start up that game and go through to the ending so that you can get back to camp so that you can play the expansion. The game has no character export or import so the only other option to start an expansion is to start with a saved game..
Personally I really think they need to add in a character export, import. That way you could start up a new game with an old character and replay the game with a higher leveled character just to see what it would be like.. All the old D&D computer games had this feature and I found it pretty useful..

Oh thank you for the answer this is an relief. I hope it will work this way, my final save is directly before you go thru the gate and the epilogue starts. Silly me thought there would be a bit more than the usual text...
I know it has no export feature, i played all the old games and i agree with you that they should add one. Maybe they will. If not this might also be an indicator that we won´t see expansions like the NWN premium moduls. At least not for high lvl chars. But i´m getting off-topic. Thanks again.

1. Start the game
2. (Optional) Go to "Options - Game" and set "Difficulty" to "Easy"
3. Load the last save you DO have for the PC in question. (For most, it'll be the "Ft. Drakkon - Rooftop".)
4. Beat the AD again (for anyone who got this far, should be a cakewalk on "Easy".)
5. Make a NAMED save after the two cutscenes ("AD Deathblow", and "Coronation".)
6. (Optional) Go to "Options - Game" again and change "Difficulty" back to whatever you prefer.
Done. Start-to-Finish, about 15 mins (plus, this time that battle's fun!
Now you don't care whether the "auto-save" triggers correctly or not.
[Edited: Just checked with a PC from a partial DA:O playthrough. If all you want to do is continue with your PC in any other post-DA:O DLC, you can just import the Warden from whatever "last save" you have. Don't even need to have finished.]
