Watching the grand cannon annihilate 1 MILLION warships is a spectacle in itself.

Michael Westen style: with random items found around the house combined in such a way that it creates effective weaponry on the fly. The reapers may be advanced but they don't stand a chance against a listening device made by attaching a crappy cellphone to a external speaker and a small plastic eplosive

It wont make sense, but there will be a zippy inspiring speech before we fight and then we will magically win.

Honestly the only real excuse they have is saying the reapers are at half power since they had to fly here instead of use the mass effect relays and therefore used up a lot of their already depleted resources. Even with that given what one reaper did it really comes down to a plot device of some kind. We found the super cannon mentioned in ME2 and have miniaturized it and made it auto fire on all our ships or whatever.

It doesn't have to make sense or be a good story, just have some awesome lines and cool action scenes with some big explosions and it will be popular. And that isn't a knock, I love movies like this.

actually there was also a substantial fleet of Geth ships with Sovereign. Point taken however.

I'm and 80's action movie junkie. So todays movies with fancy speaches and explosions is almost a step up,from one liners and explosions.  My style of movie were things like Commando.

We blow their mothership up, and an old drunk plays the role as an kamikaze-pilot, sacrifices himself and fly right into it. Like in "Independence day"

While Shepard and Garrus flying away with an alien spaceship that has been lain at rest in Area 51. And Installs a virus in the mother ship. Then every reaper crashes down at the surface of Earth.

Moves like Commando are action-comdeies.
You are never supposed to take the mseriously. They arne't even trying to be deep and relaistic.
The problem arises when they do.
