In ME3 with the new tech combos I've read about, turrent deployment, chained overload and sabotage returning, I think people may finally look upon this class in awe.

I played all the other classes multiple times before I finally convinced myself to play Engineer. I thought it was a joke of a class with that little glowing orb floating around. I even played my first Engineer as femShep because I thought it was too wimpy a class for a man. Boy was I wrong. Engineer is a very powerful, very all-purpose class with a solution for every enemy they encounter (except barriers) but incinerate does a pretty decent job. I really like the combat drone. Not only is it great for distracting and finishing off enemies, it also acts as an early warning detector to let you know enemies are in the area when you see it moving away from you. Its like having an attack dog by your side. A seasoned Engineer will always have an active drone on the battlefield. In addition to the drone I like the incineration, cyro blasts and overload. I tend to go heavy on cryo attacks because I like the sound of shattering ice. After my first playthrough I was hooked on the Engineer and have had numerous playthroughs since then. And now I play Engineer as a man.

Now that Overload affects barriers as well, Engineers are ready for everything!

Yeah, combat drone allows you to skip a couple hard fights in the game. Obviously some people don't want to skip fights, but the 2nd to last fight on Tali's Recruitment mission and (oddly enough) the 2nd to last fight on Tali's loyalty mission, can both be skipped by using a combat drone.

It also allowed me to finish off the Shadow Broker by spamming the combat drone. I didn't even need cover. I just stood in one spot firing at him. The only time I needed to move was when I casually walked over to pick up an ammo clip.
And Engineers are just as useful in ME2. Even though they lost a few abilities like damping, shield boost and sabotage(which is returning) the combat drone and incinerate makes up for the loss. Now the Engineer can be a damage dealer and not a "support class" as he was in ME1. And dont forget in 3 we get a turret...its on like hot buttered popcorn baby! The Reapers are toast.Jestina wrote...

Threads like this almost make me wish for a competitive MP Mode just to show all the naysayers what the Engineer can really do in the hands of a decent player.
Well this game was at one time leaning towards RPG before it became more of a dumbed down shooter. In ME1 engineers were more useful to have in the squad due to their skills.
