I had placed my pre-order on the 21st of July 2011 and now GAME UK has cancelled my pre-order without any explanation. I tried to pre-order it twice again, and they were also turned down within hours.

Order Number:
114403400

Order Date:

21/07/2011 15:48

Cancelled  Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector’s Edition New  Xbox 360  1  £69.14

Hugely frustrating as GAME UK is the only retailer in the whole UK whose selling the Collector's Edition. I have written to them and I'm awaiting a reply. I went this morning to a GAME shop in Edinburgh and they said they had reached their "pre-order allocation" and could not help me. I could no longer buy the bloody game.

I'm devastated. Regular client of GAME UK since 2006.

Damn.. that's ****ing bullcrap. Game is the only retailer who's selling the CE in UK, right?

Pretty bad, but the problem is that they are not accepting new ME3 Collector's Edition pre-orders; or at least mine are automatically cancelled after a few hours of having accepted them online. Has this happened to anyone else?

The thing that infuriated me was the reply I got this morning at one of thier stores that they had reached the limit on their "pre-order allocation". Decided to come here and vent all my anger.

I pre-ordered both ME1 and ME2 collectors edition with GAME, so you can understand how furious I am now.

You pre-ordered yours in July and they just cancelled it? WTH GAME?

That's f*cking outrageous. Please let us know if they reply. Hopefully it is a c*ck-up they can rectify.

Gamestation said they have pre-ordered the CE for me, but they're owned by GAME. I have a bad feeling about this...

Did you pre-order it online or through a specific store the first time?

I pre-ordered mine in December, so I'm really hoping they don't cancel it - I imagine I was quite close to them running out.

Considering how early you pre-ordered, I'd want answer as well!, I'll have to go check with my retailer now since I only ordered a couple of weeks ago, hope you get some answers and your CE Shadowbanner.

Yep, just like that. I'm awaiting till Monday on their reply. Been without internet for the last weeks as I've relocated and just realised yesterday they had cancelled it without prior warning!!! And now they will not allow me to pre-order another copy because they have allocated all the ones they had apparently.

Is Mass Effect 3 collectors edition such a limited edition that they run out of copies one month ahead of release in the UK??!!

I cannot believe it.

Gamestation, which is also owned by Game do the CE too, although I'm not sure if thry'll have any left.
I feel for you - my FFXIII-2 Crystal Edition order was cancelled a week before release by HMV (the only vendor to have any left when I ordered 6 months ago, well, they lied obviously ><). I was not a happy bunny.

I immediately went to my local Gamestaion to check my ME3 order, luckily they hadn't screwed it up and I'm still good to go.

I hope you can get something sorted :)

I feel for you. The only Gamestation shop in Edinburgh was on Princess street and that was closed down after summer. There is a GAME shop right beside it.

Yeah well. Hope it is some misunderstandment and on Monday it gets sorted out. Otherwise I am going to be really pissed off.

That's just not right. They should compensate you for the price of the game for that. Of course, they won't. I hope you can find another copy of the CE. *fingers crossed*

That's disturbing - it's such an early order date to cancel without explanation. Now you have got me concerned, especially after reading those articles a few days ago about GAME. Roll on the 9th March - not so much to play the game as to get the CE that I pre-ordered on the 8th June - the only CE that I've ever ordered.

Hope they can sort out your problem and reinstate the order asap.

How do you know they cancelled it? Did they send you an email or something?

It could be the protection department. Is your billing and delivery address all the same?

Have you claimed on any lost parcels from other companies? All the companies share information about customers who make cancellations, refunds, and lost/undelivered items' situations

Thats the most likely explanation if no1 else has had there pre-order cancelled...especially if its still on sale online...though it can take them a while to update their site

Did you order it online? I heard there have been some cancelled CE's through GAME a while ago, people who pre-ordered online, I think.

Yes, my delivery address and my billing address are both different. That didn't stop them from shipping me games though.

I have never claimed on lost parcels with this or any another company. I see where you are getting at, but let me tell you that only on the month of December 2011 GAME UK made more than £500 pounds with me in sales alone. So it is not that at what you are hinting.

The problem is that I am unable to place new pre-orders on ME3 CE whether online (they get cancelled after a few hours) or even going physically to a GAME retailer as, following their own words, they have reached their pre-order allocation limit and they are not accepting any further pre-orders on ME3 CE.

I hope this Monday it gets all sorted out.

This is ridiculous. It sounds like they over prescribed and then accidentally started deleting the oldest preorders rather than newest.

Did you read the OP?

Yeah. It doesn't actually say how Game informed him of the cancellation, hence why I asked.

He mentions that when he went into a store afterwards they said they didn't have anything, but I'm wondering how Game told him of the cancelled pre-order so I'll know what to look for if they cancel mine.

Also, to OP:

Was your original order through a specific Game store (i.e. your local store) or through the Game website?

I really hope not, I pre-ordered as soon as I heard the CE was available for pre-order. Did it through a store, though, not online.

If that was the case it wouldn't still be available to purchase online. There's clearly some other issue going on here relating solely to the OP. That said, good luck with getting it all sorted it out OP.
