I'm going in-store today to check my PC pre-order though I suspect it's fine. I really feel for the people who lost their pre-orders.

But trust me, the answer is to keep banging on to Game. When on Customer service ask for the manager, and then the managers manager etc. till you get to a higher up.

GAME are a joke i wish EA would've chosen a more reliable retailer that doesn't fail at basic business practices' such as pre order allocation. i feel really sad that customers can be treated like this, btw if it's consolation i just checked their website and they still have the PC N7 collectors edition available. i dont know if that's any consolation for anyone that has had their order cancelled.

Just for those in the UK going for the gamestop.ie option:

I have been using them for years and have never had a problem, also I have always gotten my game on the release date without issue (I always go for express delivery, and pay the extra). Now having said that I live in Ireland so I would expect the above anyway. When you pre-order with Gamestop you have to pay the full amount, so there is absolutely no reason for them to cancel an order once its gone through. My own is bought and paid for since October

Now having said all that, the only issue I could see is the fact that you're living outside of Ireland but I highly doubt they would accept payment if they cannot deliver etc (if there was some kind of regulatory reason)

Really hope you guys can get something sorted as the way you've been treated is disgraceful. Remember this treatment in the future and do not give business's who treat their customers in this way your business

I think I'm going to go into GAME later and see if I can pre-order in store, I'll cancel my pre-order if I'm able to do it in store.

I've just zipped an email off to Ian Shepard, the CEO (all the time resisting the urge to call him Commander ;D ). Now all we have to do is await a reply which should give us either a solution, or at the very least, an explanation.

I just went instore and pre-ordered it with a £5 deposit. I went back on the website to cancel my online order and it won't let me without the hassle of phoning the number. I've just asked a friend who recently completed ME2 if he wanted to buy it off me.

EA really should've given the pre-order bonus content to a more reliable retailer that doesn't have track history of poor organisation, fluffed orders and bad customer service and is on the brink of entering administration. I haven't bothered checking my order, but since I need to change by bank card number (when it arrives) anyway, I very much doubt I'll have much luck. Sad to say it for their staff, but the sooner Game fails and either closes or is bought by management that have a clue what they're doing the better. They are again turning what should be a big release event in the gaming calendar into a farce.

I think part of the problem is that GAME have spent too long having a monopoly on game retailing and simply aren't up to competing in the modern market. I would imagine EA gave them the exclusive because they paid through the nose for it - I know the only reason I pre-ordered from them was because of the CE UK exclusive.

I just hope they last long enough to get my CE. I'm kinda glad I ordered on PC, to be honest - there's little point in having a pre-order system if it doesn't guarantee anything.

So apparently Ian Shepard is too big and important to respond to emails personally. I just got a reply from his assistant, Mandy Jarvis. Unfortunately, she doesn't really seem to know what she's talking about. In my original email I clearly stated that we cannot simply place new orders as the item is out of stock on the GAME website. Here is her reply to me;

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for your recent email addressed to Ian Shepherd, Ian has read your email and asked that I respond.

I was sorry to learn from your letter of the problems you have experienced with your recent orders. I have spoken to our web team regarding these problems and I have arranged for your security settings to be re-set. This should mean that you will not experience any further problems with ordering.

If you would like to try ordering again and let me have your order number I will be happy to monitor your order for you.

Kind Regards

Mandy

*sighs*
Why do I feel like organising and sending Ian Shepard an email, which contained individual's stories and a link to this thread, as well as a thorough explanation of the situation, was a totall waste of time?

this is what I got

"Hi Madeleine,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately the reason the order was cancelled was due to missing data.

It appears the order was not completed correctly. The shipping address has not been completed so the order has cancelled order.

I apologise for any confusion this may have caused.

Regards,

Emily C"

I call utter bull poo. The information was the same as everything else I have ever ordered, why would it be missing this time?

GRRRR

Because reading comprehension is obviously a lost art and coherent language as we tend to practice it in normal life apparently a dead language ...

Sent her another email asking her to clarify what has happened with so many orders being cancelled for seemingly no real reason. She hasn't replied. <_<

Vault, maybe because of the website overhaul? I had the same problem, but it's when I amended the order to input the correct shipping address that my order was cancelled...

JaHawk, it was not for nothing. We now know for certain that they don't care, and that the incompetence goes all the way to the top. (FYI, I once contacted Mandy Jarvis about a refund I had been trying to get for months. She told me the problem would be solved - I never got that refund)

Never dealing with them again. *sigh*

Thats what happened to me, I was getting the billing address error when I was trying to order something else, so I called and got it sorted by their instructions. I also amended the info on the order to make sure it was the same.

Look's like it wasnt our fault at all

I did what they told me and they mess is up.

I suppose it could be argued that it wasn't for nothing, but it hasn't presented us with any sort of information or assistance. And I'm actually slightly offended that she claims Ian Shepard has "read" my email and "asked her to respond". If that is the case, he simply doesn't care about his customers. If that is not the case and only she has read it, she is lying to me and the recipient hasn't seen it. Gah, I hate the corporate system sometimes!

^ This. This is incredibly frustrating. Even if they can't do anything about our orders, would it kill them to acknowledge that they screwed up, not us? Or take at least some responsibility for this? I mean, I'm sure we can all appreciate them having technical difficulties with their website or whatever, these things do happen. But for now I just feel like we're being treated like idiots, and, well, that's offending.

Don't email, it's a waste of bloody time. Call the customer service, demand for the manager, if the manager does bollocks all or tries for a lame excuse ask for his manager. Keep badgering them.

Also checked at my store and my pre-order is apparently fine.
