I wouldn't care if they couldn't offer me another CE. I just want an explanation that isn't making us seems like fools...

I'm constantly checking my order status now! Everything is fine atm, but I'll be boycotting Game from now on, they're a total disgrace to retailers. If it wasn't for their monopoly on pre-order exclusives, I would never have used them to get ME3 CE. Hopefully they'll go under soon & give other retailers some breathing room to offer genuine competition & choice.

In the past, I've had much more pleasurable buying experiences from smaller online retailers such as Zavvi (totally ironic, I know!) & Sendit.com, etc.....

This is why exclusives are bad for the customer. Let all retailers have the product and the one with the best service gets my business. Isn't that the way it's supposed to work?

I know right? Free market capitalism my behind. It's more like monopolies on games. <_<

They just cancelled my standard edition preorder without giving any reason. Makes you wonder if those rumours about their credit problems from a couple weeks back will bite us.

I just checked mine and it seems ok.

This seems to be a worrying trend from Game.  Did they give you a reason?

That or their site overhaul. Or Game is really just the crapper retailer I've always thought it to be. I've always preferred others to it.

On a side note, I just had a look at my ME3 CE receipt and I realized that it actually stated the barcode of my game. Perhaps that's why in-store is guaranteed, because when they place it, they are placing a real physical copy that they already have purchased.

Omg! seems they not learned from last years DA2 sig ed pre order fiasco. ( source of my problem was play.com )
I feel sorry for all those that had their stuffs cancelled on them.
As for myself, i didnt fall for any of this pre order mass marketing ploy.

These weren't rumours. Fortunately however it seems GAME has a credit line for at least this year, so I can't see the company going under at least in the immediate future.

I truly feel for those who have lost their pre-orders, particularly those with the CE, seeing as re-ordering it could prove nigh-impossible. All I can say is try the stores- there may still be some who haven't sold out.

Ok, guys I felt I had the duty to update this thread being the OP.

It has taken me over three emails and three phone calls, and the better of the last week, but finally today was the breakthrough. The matter seems to have been settled for good -fingers crossed-.

A very helpful CS rep called Andy explained to me that GAME's CEO (yes, Mr Ian Sheperd himself -gasp-) had instructed to re-instate my pre-order. Apparently Mandy, one of their Managers, had already been doing this when I called up again today. And no, I did not email Mr Sheperd despite being very tempted to. I am sure he has more important things to do than read one of my emails. ;)

Apparently on them rehauling their website I failed some security checks (despite being their regular customer since 2006 and spending with them over £1,000 over the last 12 months). So I had to phone them -repeatedly- to verify my details. I handed over my credit card details -which they already have on file- as well as other personal data and it seems that some time along this month of February they will be confirming my X360 pre-order for ME3s Collector's Edition.

All I can say is that I feel very relieved and happy with the outcome.

And I want to add that I would NOT like GAME UK to go under. I shiver at the mere thought of going to TESCO or ASDA and asking them for a collector's edition. Last time they confused "Gears of War 3" with "Modernwarfare 3" -sends shivers down my spine-. We need specialist high street retailers like GAME in the UK.

Nuff said. Thanks for the support everyone (kudos specially to Furtle and Chuck; thanks guys, you are the best). This thread was pivotal helping me to solve my plight. I do hope it helps others who may share my same problem (cancelled X360 ME3 CE pre-order with GAME UK).

Good to hear that. As I said, phoning them does yield better average results than anything else, now here's to hope everything worked out for you *katching* Prosit!

Thanks for spreading the news Shadowbanner. I think the lesson to learn is call and demand as much as possible.

Glad to hear this has worked out for you! Maybe now most if not all of us GAME users can rest easy.

Really glad you got it sorted mate! :) Perhaps Game could learn a lesson from this & not be so complacent in future just because they have exclusivity. In this case they realise that customers like you & me are their bread & butter & without our £ they wouldn't exist.

Anyway, welcome back to the fold mate & may you dine on exclusive DLC once again! B)

I called them and they said there was nothing could be done, even after speaking to a manager, so whilst I'm happy that Shadowbanner has got his order back, it obviously isn't a solution for everyone!

He said he called 3 times, so I suggest to keep calling. Outside of that nothing can really be done - unfortunately :(

I wish Bioware or EA would atleast try to help with this. They didn't help when it was about DA2 signature edition and they don't help with this. When will they ever help? It is after all them who provide the CEs in the first place.

How exactly are they supposed to help? Distributor screwups aren't their problem.

They kinda are when they give the distrubtion rights to their CE solely to one UK retail chain known to have a bad reputation for distrubtion and had previously messed up a similar scenerio last year. All this gets them is less money and customers.

Please allow me to correct you JaHawk. I haven't -as of yet- got my order back.

I have been promised and given reassurances that they would re-instate my pre-order sometime along this month.

Here's hoping.

I'll give them another call tomorrow, see what happens. Failing that, I'll just go in store on release da early and try to grab an un-preordered CE before anyone else gets their grubby mits on it.

One would hope that EA are taking note of this. Clearly, whatever forecasts GAME had made turned out to be woefully inadequate when they were figuring out the stock they'd purchase, and that can only affect EA's bottom line as they could have sold more, and can't pass on any to other retailers.
