It may seem like a foolish question but to everyone who's had their pre-order cancelled are you certain you've had at least £69.99 in your registered account since pre-ordering? GAME will cancel a pre-order if your account doesn't have sufficient funds even months before release.

I still cant confirm whether my order has been cancelled or not but there does seem to be a bigger problem than just credit issues. Their website tells me they have no record of my email address but at the same time won't let me create a new account using the same email address as it is already in use???

It would be an appalling mess if those who preordered early to ensure they get a copy of the CE were the ones who missed out.

Really? Thats a ridiculous situation and is another reason for me to worry as I won't have money in my account until the week before release.

That's not true. Game, and most other online retailers for that matter, will only charge you once the item you've ordered is due to be dispatched. From time to time they will charge you earlier (Game did with GoW 3 Epic Edition) but when this is the case they will always notify you first.

Pre-ordered the CE the minute I was able too, so the OP's dilemma was a bit worrying. I went in store to order my copy, instead of ordering online.(North East England)  Payed the £5 deposit required. Rang them up a little while ago, they said basically if you've paid the deposit, your copy is secured, obviously if you go into the store on release day with all the proof (reciept / Issue ticket with order number etc etc in my case) then they can't really deny you the game. I did mention the worry that was spreading on this forum / thread. If GAME are struggling, causing all this agro for your customer base isn't going to help them get any better. This is the first time I've pre ordered from GAME, and after hearing this, will probably be the last time too.

I hope your situation is resolved OP, I really do

You need to call them, when they vamped their website alot of accounts got locked/'misplace'. Hopefully that's the case, call up and get them to sort it ASAP.

People should read this and make sure they are okay.

Very worrying, especially with a whole month of waiting still to go.

I preordered 2 CE, one for myself on the 360 in June, and one on the PS3 for my fiancée in November, so rather worried for both. Hopefully it'll be fine.

I'm definitely not using game again after this though. Amazon or the supermarkets are a safer bet, sadly.

Still, it does solve my lack of Xbox Live Gold. I just used up all my Game loyalty card points, and got the 12 month membership card for a fiver. Multiplayer here I came! Assuming I have a game to play of course...

I'll use the points I get from the ME preorders to grab a 3DS Circle Pad Pro, and I'm done with the store until they have their 'going out of business' clearance sale.

I'm in the same position as you. So this means we don't have to worry about our pre-orders being cancelled?

Game is having serious credit issues atm, & will be closing 60 of its 300 stores before 2013!

In the short term, they can only get credit to buy/stock games if they have a big enough demand for them, so ME3 orders *should* be fulfilled. They said that in the short term, you wont notice any difference. But I wouldn't bet on their current trading model to last much past the summer!!!

Further to the article in the above post. I hope that all the issues in regards to Game break the "exclusives" monopoly that it has enjoyed for a long time in the UK & give it to a more deserving (read:- stable) company, like Amazon.co.uk etc...

I didn't say anything about them charging you. I said that GAME will cancel a pre-order if your account doesn't have sufficient funds even months before release. They will routenly check that the order can be completed after the order has been placed, they don't want to loose money because somebody pre-ordered but didn't have enough money at release. By cancelling orders early they can offer the game to someone else, preventing lost revenue through bad pre-orders.

Hugely frustrating as GAME UK is the only retailer in the whole UK whose selling the Collector's Edition. I have written to them and I'm awaiting a reply. I went this morning to a GAME shop in Edinburgh and they said they had reached their "pre-order allocation" and could not help me. I could no longer buy the bloody game.

I'm devastated. Regular client of GAME UK since 2006.

I dont think a locked account should affect your preorder. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and plan to kick up a storm regarding my order. I suggest everyone else worried about their preorder does the same. I preordered with gamestation yesterday as a backup but since they are all the same company I'm not entirely confident that this will solve the problem. Lesson: Exclusivity deals are bad news for the customer - EA,GAME get your act together.

Nope, the mail was sent from game.co.uk's customerservice adress including. request-nr. and the number of my order. According to the request number, it's the answer to the mail i've sent them a week ago concerning a sudden change of my shipment method and order-number.

All seems legit ...

Correct. When it's time for release, your order will change from Unshipped to Processing, and then from Processing to Shipped. 

OP: I feel for you. GAME has pulled this stunt before. If you use Facebook, make some noise on their official page.

Tha's reassuring then, thanks. I was just worried as I was sure when I ordered Deus Ex it was stuck on Pre-order until it was time to be dispatched.

I don't know why they're cancelling orders for, I went on their site and they've got the CE available again for pre-order (360)

Phone them and make THEM do it. That way you won't be having cancelled your order without being able to pre-order your edition again because it is out. If they cancel your order per request to fix that problem, it is their business to get it to work. If you cancel your order, you're out of luck.

Just make them spear their heads over this.

Thanks, not a bad idea. I'll give it a try. Hope it will work. When this is all sorted out, one thing is for sure: It's the last time i ordered at GAME even if they'll have exclusive access to a CE. (It's the second time the messed with my order)
