I feel as if BioWare has only given special treatment to certain characters in ME3. Why not every Character?

For Example: Miranda is my LI, and she hardly has Screen Time in ME3. Some of your favorite Characters are getting the same treatment: Not getting enough Screen Time.

I can't help but feel duped.

If I'm wrong, PLEASE correct me.:(

Considering the variety of characters, expecting them all to have just as much importance to the plot is sort of asking for the impossible.

Not...entirely impossible. Isn't there some type of reward for having one LI? What good is it if she doesn't have much screen time? :(

There's only so much one can do when you have a story to tell involving so many characters, mate.
You can hope for meaningful interaction with Shepard WHEN these characters get their screen time, and a fitting epilogue.

Yes, all fiction works best if every character has an exactly equally-sized part. This is done in every great book, movie, TV show, etc. Having some characters be more involved with the plot and have greater importance is something that only trash writers try and do.

How many TV series, books, movies etc. do you know where every single character gets the same amount of attention and screentime? Sure, there are ensemble shows, but even on those there is favouritism. That's just the way it works, some characters are primary, some had a lesser role and some are background characters, becoming more and less prominent at different points during the story. It really can't be helped.

Besides, how do you know Miranda has ''hardly any screen time''? Because she's probably not a squaddie? Let's wait until the game comes out before we jump to conclusions.

You're being naive...

There is no way in hell every character can play an equal/important role in ME3..

They should have "their moment to shine"

Come on man

That's virtually impossible and causes tremendous narrative strain.

^ The Miranda Thread is being distorted by very pessimistic people who are causing me to worry a lot. :(

And I don't like the fact that the Normandy has become another SR1.

This user effectively stated what I came in here to state in a far more elegant style.

Wait for the game to come out first. And well, I don't think taking a LI with you to missions adds anything to the romance at all, so not being a squaddie shouldn't matter much.

There may be spoilerific reasons characters such as Miranda and Jack haven't been seen yet. Most of the character reveals seem to be from early on, and in scenarios we probably could have expected to occur (ie: Wrex & Mordin on Surkesh).

Then avoid the Miranda thread.  But really, I got over not being able to pal around with Wrex and Ashley in ME2, so you should be able to handle this.

It's okay if our favorite characters have small parts.  In most works of fiction, my favorite character always dies, or they are less important than the main character, or only around for one season, or whatever.  Hell, know who my downright favorite character was in ME1?  Lorik Qui'in.  How much screen time does Lorik get, huh?

So chillax.  You still have ME2, and Miranda WILL be in ME3, even if it's not a huge role.  And (spoiler alert) there is kissing and stuff.

And I don't like the fact that the Normandy has become another SR1.

You haven't seen the whole ship yet.  Less glaringly bright light isn't going to hurt anyone.

So long as it's not so damn dark you can't see a thing, ISN'T THAT RIGHT, ME1?

Too bad, the majority of ME fans want the Normandy Blue and the majority of ME fans don't have Miranda in ME3 anyway.

I think he's actually talking about how most of the ME1 team is back.

Yeah the Normandy SR1 was Dark like some Evil War ship. The Normandy won't be the Same Either way. We're placed back in the Alliance Unwillingly. Why couldn't we just work on our own, neither Alliance nor Cerberus.

I mean, why would I want to go back to an organization that doubted everything about the reapers?

I think every Chess piece should have the exact amount of importance.

I'll be very unhappy if "Pawn #6" gets a smaller role. They clearly deserve more.

Hey, I just realized that there are 16 squadmates in ME1 and ME2 (not counting Morinth), and there are 16 chess pieces a side. Interesting.

I think the title of this thread should be changed to something along the lines of, "Please show us the other characters, BioWare."

I understand what you mean, we only really see a lot of Liara, James, and Ashley. I'd like to see more of the other characters, too but you'll just have to wait, I suppose. They're not going to market everyone equally.

I disagree.
.
Some characters are more important than others, and treating they like equal is wrong.
.
Now, being important doesn't mean the character should be a squadmate.
.
Keeping the Miranda example, she is the most important chracter in ME2, and should have profund impact in ME3 due to her Cerberus connections.

And some people, like me, like it that way. But seriously, it isn't that simple, really.

Though it is kinda obvious not everyone can have major roles in ME3. BW already screwed up with putting so many squadmates into ME2, so I'm not surprised. And it is a shame I can't have everyone back in the ship, cause I would want to have everyone, more or less. But I'd rather have them play more 'important' roles in ME3 then running around on my loveboat.

No, my favorite should be more important than every other character.

We have a war room and a lounge as well. Best ship in the trilogy, if you ask me.
