EDI doesn't count. She's equipment.
A pretty lackluster one at that though..
Please show us the other characters, BioWare! *Spoilers Allowed*

Okay, okay :L Point taken
A boring ME2 NPC made squad mate status. A wasted spot when she could have been on the ship anyway then we could have had Legion, Mordin, Miranda etc take that spot -sighs-

You can't expect them to service all fans equally when they have to shape a game around certain characters.

I'm a Mirimancer/Mirimaniac. Of Course I'm going to have an Avater of My Only LI and my Favorite Mass Effect Character.
I have the right, you know?

Yeah. It's another SR1 again....unwillingly. Why couldn't we be given the opportunity to say "F*ck Off!" to the Alliance and fight on our own. By the end of ME2, we were Neither Cerberus, nor Alliance, depending on the choices.
You right, it does suck that we are forced to be on the side of one faction or another. You have to have seen the Cerberus Hate threads on these boards. I still get upset over the fact that I had to work with Cerberus. I got angry that my ME1 LI called me a traitor and stomed off, dispite that fact that I hated Cerberus.
But this is Bioware's sandbox. We have some leeway to set the tone, but the story is theirs. That puts them in control. I had to stop reading "Game of Thrones" because I couldn't take anymore character deaths. But that is that author's story. Does it suck that characters I love are gone? Yes. But that is fallout from the way ME2's story unfolded. I can scream about "fairness" all I want, but in truth "fair" doesn't nor shouldn't come into it. If I want to be (as Shepard) a part of this story, it has to be on the author's terms.

Most characters had screen time cut so we could talk with Vega or Chobot's character. Duh.
Why would you want: Miranda, Jacob, Mordin, Grunt, Jack, Thane, or Samara when you have them?
Uh...that's a Stupid Question. That's BioWare talking. That's what they would say.
I have a good Reason why I would want Miri Back: She is My LI, and she is a Wonderful Squadmate and a Wondeful Character.
Mordin is Awesome, so is Grunt, Jack, Samara, Thane, Kasumi, etc.
Vega I can see as a new Squad Member, but Diana Allers (Chobot's Character) seems like she was just throne there to fill an empty space, and for "Cheating" Bait.
Sorry BioWare, but Miriis my LI in Mass Effect. I played ME2 first, so even the ME1 Characters Liara and Ashley felt like "Cheating" Bait, I didn't give in though.
Nice try, BioWare, but no dice.

Mirianda isn't a squadmate, and she only pops up at the end of the story, you can talk to her a few times. That's how it's going to happen, nothing you say will change it.
But why would BioWare do that and why would they mostly favor the ME1 Characters more?
It is true that the Characters could die in ME2, BUUUUUUUTT that doesn't change the fact that they can STILL have large enough roles like the ME1 Characters.

If they wanted to give the ME2 Characters little time (LI or not), they could have done the same for the ME1 Characters, it is a War after all.
Don't worry. Ash is her replacement.
