With respect, I don't mean it like that.

Why favor just one Fanbase? That's all I'm asking.

For Example: Liara is the Shadow Broker ffs. Why isn't she at her base finding Vital Info?
Tali could be at the Migrant fleet helping her people and/or help Legion as well.
The VS is a Spectre now, right? So why don't they have their own Ship and Crew?
Garrus could easily round up some troops and what not on his own.

I find Miranda's arc more meaningful than the rest of the ME2 romance characters and can also evoke as much emotion as something from ME1 romances. So you don't get to have pointless dialogue in-between missions, they just took all that out and put all the awesome romance into one big mission.

You can't expect them to service all fans equally when they have to shape a game around certain characters.

Wait, so NONE of the characters from ME2 will return as squadmates? I understand why SOME characters wouldnt be but excluding all of them just makes no sense.

Take Mordin for example, its understandable that he's off the crew because he's busy doing something about the Krogan Genophage or Samara even, her oath to Shepard supposedly ends with the destruction of the Collector base...But what about everyone else? I mean whats Jacob or Miranda gonna do, "rejoin" Cerberus? Or Legion, its not like he can just take a break to chill with all the other Geth lol.

You could point to all previous squadmates and give them some sort of business to do.

If everyone did then all Shepard would have left is Vega.

It's not a question of which characters Bioware prefers MassEffectfan. They are not out to spite you and anyone who loves (a little too much it seems) Miranda.

If you really loved that character so much then you would learn to appreciate what her role is about and not how many lines she has. She plays a role. It's not the lead, it's not even the main supporting one, but she has a purpose just like everybody else.

Giving everyone an equal amount of time simply to satisfy every single fan out there would be a disaster and not to mention insane.

People dont always have the same level of importance...it is a War after all.

Her role in Mass Effect 2 amounted to weapon of mass distraction. If they didn't give her equal exposure in ME3 Meh, I don't care so much as long as it's handled well. Rather than have Miranda tag along for some contrived reason to appease a fanbase.

...frankly I'd be happy if we could choose our squadmates.

At least have some of the ME2 exclusive squad (that's not equipment) be mutually exclusive with ME1 squad.

I.E: You can get Miranda or the VS at a certain point.
Tali or Legion.
Garrus or X
So on.

If they were really going to go to all the trouble to write all those extra characters and make them bonus powers and such, why would they make them mutually exclusive with other squadmates so that half the players get nothing out of it? Plus they'd have to come up with some pretty contrived reasons to make you choose between them, too.

inb4thelock!

but seriously, i can see both sides. OP, i felt the same way as you with wrex. he was my favorite character from me1. obvs, seeing as how he was doing important stuff on tuchanka during me2, he couldn't be a part of the squad.

for me3, tho...i know he's prob still doing all that important stuff (and more)...and we'll prob get him as a cameo for a mission or two...it still is bittersweet for a character we enjoyed so much.

it's really bioware's ability to make us care for these characters so deeply, so hats off to them. i think if the tables were flipped and they said liara would only have a marginal part to play in me3, we'd have a lot of other pissed off people.

They have, it was called the suicide mission and huge variability going forwards. Only 2 of 6-7 squadmates were ME1 exclusives. The others will be featured in some capacity and their arcs will have some form of closure (yes, some people won't like them).

Because the game is essentially finished, they don't want to release anymore details and nothing is going to change. So, asking for a character to have more screen time at this time is rather pointless.

There was also almost an entirely new cast of characters.  There were like up to 8 new characters so there was more likelihood that you would find someone to like.

Now in ME3 there are mostly recurring character that everyone knows whether they like or dislike.  There are very few new characters, like literally one.

That seems fairly incomparable because anyone upset about ME3 KNOW they dislike the squad as opposed to random speculation.

I completely understand that all the teammates can't get as much screen time and narrative exposition because of the way BW is trying to tell the final chapter of the ME story.

I really just wanted to get a small snippet of info from BW about the fate of the ME2 cast. You know, a screen shot, character feature vid, or even one of the devs giving a hint about how they will be used beyond "they will be in the game". We already know a ton of information about Garrus, Liara, Wrex, Anderson, Ash, Kadian, Vega, and TIM. I just want a little bit of info about the fates of some of the other characters. Nothing super spoilerific, just a small teaser or something...

well for one  Tali and Garrus and maybe Liara has the biggest fan bases than anyone else. i doubt they are going to Diminish their roles just so  minor Fan bases like Miranda's or jack's and the rest of  ME2 squad.  i'm sorry  Garrus,Tali,Liara is more important to the story than the rest whether you like it or not.

Can you really quantify the size of a certain character's fanbase?  What information are you using to justify that statement?  Based on the size of the Miranda thread, it could be argued that her character is the most popular of the series.

Every Character is Important dammit. It shouldn't be base on the Fanbase. As said in Star Trek, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." The Liara. Tali, and Garrus fans serve as the few, and every fan of Mass Effect serve as the many.
